I agree 100% with what decoster touched on. Our top riders spend so much of their time all in on supercross. That is ok for us because we love our supercross but it does hurt our part time outdoors level compared to the rest of the world that can focus on the outdoors.

Maybe your opinion and I am sure there are plenty of people who share some of your statement but claiming them to be facts it pretty far fetched. I would much rather go to and or watch a SX race. I like riding both MX and SX tracks

The OEMs / race teams love Supercross also. It's way easier on the equipment (i.e.: costs less) with better ROI on investment when it comes to eyeballs.

MX Vices stuff is usually very, very good. So much better than Luongo's mouthpiece's site.

And for the most part, these interviews are just that - very good and informative.

But cripes, it seemed Lewis ( I think it was Lewis doing the interview) was trying so hard to placate / ease the US teams disappointment, with his repeated lines about how if it were more muddy / sloppy, the Americans would have done better.

Maybe, maybe not.

But, the results are what they are.

Many, including I , really thought the US Team were most likely to win, barring disasters. No 'B' Team BS at all - the 2 current National Champions and the first US 450 rider behind Tomac, Barcia, who has previous (very good) performances / experience in the MXDN.

Well, no 'disasters' hit the US Team - they just got beaten. Heck, one of the teams on the podium had the sort of 'disaster' that normally wrecks Teams results. It happened to other teams, too.

Something for All to keep in mind : What happened to the US Team in the USA, could also happen to the now, very logically, favoured (for next year) Dutch Team. Either a less that expected performance level by the riders, or a 'disaster', or succession of 'disasters'. There's no guarantees or 'shoe ins' in Motocross, and people really should take that on board.

Never forget - the first (Trophy) Des Nations win by the US Team was in Lommel - The Sand Track of All Sand Tracks (though, I'm sure that there are others that I haven't been to that might make it look a bit mild). There's a chance they could pull the same sort of upset, again.

These days it takes years to ride sand at such a high level. Look at Covington, when he came over he was useless in the sand but over the years he put the hard work in & he's a decent sand rider. If he's fit next year, he'd be the first rider I pick.

I dont think US should have the mindset of getting their asses kicked. France should have gotten their asses kicked this year if Italy, Netherlands or Australias last rider performed/did not have issues.

Thomas C can easily be the best MX2 rider in Assen, Osborne is no slouch in the sand. RJ Hampshire did good in MX2 in WW ranch which was like a sand track. Only takes 1 misstake, injury or similar and US have a chance at winning.

Agree, so after hitting multiple supercrosses for the last 22 years, I will no longer attend any supercross races and will attend an additional national.
