Listening to Steve now. He is so obvious about pushing his agenda. His pre-reasons that it doesn't matter Tomac will get smoked an the Nations bugs me. It sounds like he is starving to be bro's with Tomac, easy Steve. Tomac is rad, he is the man in the USA. Truth is Herlings is a better, more rounded racer. Herlings sounds better in interviews, his mind is stronger. Try watching and listing, Herings came here to a track that was all USA, he smoked everyone. #784

It will have to be an extremely unique scenario to be able to make any kind of thorough judgement of "who is better/ faster." There will be hundreds of "if this or if that's" regardless of who wins.

That said, to me, this event is HEAVILY based on seeing these two hopefully square off. I care far more about these two being able to get through the first turn 1 and 2 and battling all moto than I do about a Team USA win.

Man your argument collapses all over itself and you obviously aren't listening very closely to what Steve is saying. What agenda is that exactly? Herlings has had his ass beat over here as well so don't play that card either. To say that Herlings speaks better really can't be a fair comparison as Tomac is from the US and Herlings is European, they have completely different accents. Let the damn guys race for crying out loud!!

Tomac is the more rounded racer. He excels at mx/sx, while herlings is a outdoor specialist.

If this entire summer was any indication, I would say he (Roczen) wont be in the battle for more than the first 15 minutes. Nothing against the guy but he's just not back up to 100% yet and I dont think a few off weekends is going to be the difference maker.

The only way the Tomac/Herlings debate can be answered at RedBud is if the race comes down to Netherlands vs USA in the final moto and it makes it a winner take all. Otherwise someone will have to race for the team result and have an excuse not to push.

I can see that happening. But you could say that to prevent this from happening, Eli cant afford to let Herlings win the first moto eather, as nothing has been decided that early. So basicly as NL and USA are top teams, neather can let eachother win any of the races. Except from the last moto if it is decided at that point. GAME ON!! Cool

Ill be their rooting for the good ol USA of course and I am a huge fan of Tomac, always have been. BUT I would be lying if I said I wasn't pumped to see Herlings ride in person.

Above all else I hope they both show up and race all weekend while staying healthy.

No mechanicals or injuries please...that'll be all!

People can call me unpatriotic if they want but I for one am with you. I’m sure we’re in the minority but I’d get more enjoyment out of witnessing Tomac win an epic head to head, back and forth battle than i would a US victory. That said, obviously the optimal scenario would be for both to occur or better yet, as long as we’re fantasizing for Tomac to come from the back of the pack to pass JH on the final lap of final moto to give the US a 1pt victory over the Dutch; )
