The chance of cold in April and the altitude that comes with it. There is no dome in Denver. Racing at night in the cold + the altitude would be difficult. Especially setting the bikes up during the day when it’s warmer and then riders at night when it’s definitely cooler.

It has the potential of being an issue. That’s all I’m saying.
So works just fine in SLC but wouldn’t in Denver? Got it.

So I saw some rough dates at Millville for 2019 SX. The season as always will start in the first weekend of January. So I have done some improvising and I can almost confirm there will be races in philly Detroit, and Nashville and that Salt Lake City and Tampa are out. So here is what I ended up with. Also Houston, Indy, and Las Vegas are East/West Shootouts

1- Anaheim 1- West
2- Oakland- West
3- Anaheim 2- West
4- Glendale- West
5- San Diego- West
6- Arlington- West
7- Minneapolis (East/West Shootout)
8- Atlanta- East
9- Daytona- East
10- Nashville- East
11- St Louis- East
12- Detroit- East
13- Indy (East/West Shootout)
14- Houston- West
15- Seattle- West
16- Philadelphia- East
17- East Rutherford- East
18- Las Vegas (East/West Shootout)

Some of the dates are not confirmed, but I did my best to try and get a rough estimate. I think the schedule took so long because two new cities and a return of Detroit after a 1 year hiatus are trying to work SX into the stadium schedule. Also dont know if philly will be in citizens bank park or Lincoln financial field. I would like to see it at citizens bank because we don’t get a baseball stadium after race 5. Lastly, I have heard rumblings of maybe races in Denver, Santa Clara, Miami, and a crazy idea of Baton Rouge, the of the beloved bayou bengals of LSU so don’t get your hopes crushed yet. Let me know what you think or if you heard differently because I could be completely wrong.
Serious question: Are you privy to some sort of legitimate insider knowledge or are you merely doing what any one of us could do and simply making educated guesses based on historical data, deductive reasoning, and unsubstantiated rumors?

If the latter, no biggie but i do think you should do a better job of clarifying that fact. e.g. Rename the thread “My best guess at the 2019 SX schedule”

I thought the Daytona date was during bike week? 2019 Daytona bike week dates look like 3/8-3/17, so according to that proposed schedule with Daytona as stop #9 that would make the Daytona date 3/2.

Seems sketchy and off base.

SLC isn’t a mile above sea-level dipshit. Salt Lake City is 3922 feet above Sea Level and Denver is 5280. If you think 1278 feet doesn’t make a difference, you’re wrong.

Also, SLC is always in May, not April where the average temp is almost 71 degrees. It’s 60.9 in Denver and around 42 degrees at night.

There! Now you have it.

If philly is true, ill be pumped since i live less than 20mins from stadium..Philly pits will definitely be rowdy..biker boys will be out in full force..i have union job working nights in center city philly..we usually have police every night to do our traffic control..packs of 20-40 biker boys drive by every night and ride circles around the cop car..every bike from 80's to 450's..cops dont even bother chasing them anymore...i'll be happy to show some fellow vitards some gd bars after race is over

Oh and one more thing, i live in Seattle where in April we’re thrilled if it reaches 60 with lows in the 40’s. So by your logic they’d never even consider running supercross in Seattle in April, right? Oh wait...

There! Now you have it.

The word elsewhere is that STL, SLC, and Tampa are out and Denver, Nashville, and NYC are in. So I'm definitely confused about these dates. Being that my family and I have been going to STL for the last several years..kind of makes it a bummer. But if it comes to Denver, we can work with that Smile

Hopefully the schedule comes out soon, we're planning to go to Vegas in May and don't want to risk getting everything booked if they're switching up dates and venues.

Maybe its just me but i have feeling something mighty will be dropping with regard to SX/MX.

Normally the SX schedule is announced at Vegas for the next year. This year there hasnt been an announcement.
Some of the National Tracks were sending emails that they needed people to come this year as it may be their last if attendance isnt good.

Soo....just my own little conspiracy theory here:

SX will expand to somewhere around 25 races with a CUP format for the last 5 races.

The reason there has been no announcement was everyone was giving the MX nationals the spotlight before dropping the bombshell.

Now that the season is over they will stay quiet and drop it at the 11th hour at MEC.

Just my tinfoil hat wearing thoughts.......

Hope i am wrong but.....stranger things have happened.....(500 nationals anyone?)

Last year the schedule was released a month after SX ended.

https://racerxonline.com/2017/06/13/2018-monster-energy-supercross-sche…

That delay may have been because they made some changes with the Triple Crown and Showdown races.

But here we are even 2+ months past where they announced the schedule last year.

Would Feld actually give a crap about stepping on the national's toes by waiting for the season to end for an announcement? Best I can tell, Feld likes to pretend that the nationals don't exists because Shaheen and Emig never say anything about the national series. If a rider got hurt during the nationals, they would usually just say "rider got hurt during the offseason last year".

Bummer to see Seattle isn’t late enough in the season. Expect a mudder for that one. That sucks.

As a Seattlite, I’m just happy it’s on the schedule. That said, i wouldn’t put the chances of a repeat of last year very high at all. For those that live in the PNW, you know that hard rains like last year are actually exceedingly rare. Seattle actually gets less rainfall annually than cities like New York, Atlanta, and Houston. Overcast and lire drizzle? Absolutely. Downpours, infrequent.
I’m in Portland so I know what you mean. Yes, we don’t get those torrential downpours 24/7, but chances are in early April, late March, it’s gonna be soupy or wet in some way.

I don’t want to open this can of worms, but WHY is there not a roof on centurylink field? Laughing

I think soccer teams can't play under a dome, so Centurylink would have had to be retractable in order to be used for the MLS team.

But, "Paul Allen rejected plans for a retractable roof during the early stages of the stadium's design. The lack of a retractable roof made it open to the elements, provided better views, and reduced the total cost of the project."

I just hope they get rid of the day races in the open stadiums watching supercross with daylight and shadows in tv is sacrelig
agreed. Last year was my first SX race, I went to Foxboro. Still an incredible experience, but there was something off about the feeling. Especially the opening ceremonies, they just didn't have that oomph that I was expecting.

Budds Creek says it's going to be their last race every other day for a while now. I would't put too much stock in it. Laughing

Funny how someone who lives in North Carolina is preaching about the weather in Colorado. The awesome weather is why I stay here, Perfect racing weather! April 13th mile high stadium 2019 SX but I will believe it when I see it because it ain't the weather that could kill it, it happened before.
