He doesnt even have a single 450 title but were calling him the greatest of all time lol...ok. Cairolli meanwhile has 9, hes just getting older. Herlings has.....0. Tomac even has 1. Lets pump the breaks a bit. He has 3 total championships in the 250 class and when he was winning those Cooper Webb beat him the first time they raced. Jason Anderson also beat him at MXON and last year at the USGP him and Tomac split motos with each winning 1.

Yes he beat Tomac at Ironman when all he was trying to do was win the championship, but when they raced straight up at USGP they split motos. I dont get where his unbeatable reputation comes from, seeing that hes been beat quite a few times. Hes probably the fastest guy right now, or him and Tomac are neck and kneck, hard to judge we truely dont know right now, but goat....not yet. Well know in 10 years, but too early to say right now. Hes blazing fast, hes not called the bullet for no reason, but lets relax until he actually wins multiple championships-which Im sure he will do in time.

Never gonna happen but I'd love to see KTM send Jeffy to the nationals next year. Just to end the entire argument. My money would be on Herlings but who knows what Eli has in the tank when really pushed. It'd be cool though.

I'd like to see both. Tomac to GP's and Herlings to nationals, 2 seasons together in both series. Never gonna happen, and it still wouldn't stop the arguments Laughing

I would be surprised to see Prado for another 2 years in MX2 (assuming he stays injury free).

KTM will have a bigger problem to have a strong factory team in mx2 in 2 years time. Apart from Hofer they don't have anybody special lined up right now, and Hofer is very young (and injured).

Usually the fastest Motocross rider in the world can fairly be considered top level. I'd imagine even Vital can allow that. Considering the progression of technique and the bikes it's very likely that he goes around a track faster than anyone in history.

Yeah don't think he is being ironic unfortunately. He keeps referring to better then Herlings, but funny thing is that Prado is winning this title not in Herlings style, but in Jonass style. As in not big margins of victory, but always be at the front.

Anyway, i'm very impressed by Prado this season. He doesn't dominate like Herlings did in terms of margin of victory, but he is at a pace where he wins and stays healthy. That is a clear step up from last year, where one moment he could challenge for wins and the next GP ride home with 2 finishes outside top 10.

If he can make the same jump in performance next season he would start to reach Herlings like dominance in Mx2.

You can really tell that he's been working with Cairoli, because he's winning the title the same way Cairoli won most of his. Just going as fast as he needs to to win and making very few mistakes. His consistency is very good. He's only finished outside the Top 3 in a Moto 4 times out of 30 this season. It's very very impressive for a 17 year old to show so much maturity

Watching the way Herlings rides sand at Lommel, it's a good job for Team USA that the MXDN hasn't any plans to return there soon. On his current form he would probably lap Eli Tomac, the same way he lapped Blake Bagget in 2012 when Herlings was just a kid!......

I think Prado will stay 250 until he has to move up so has another 5/6years in 250. De Carli will just get someone else until Prado is ready to move up, maybe Lieber?

Then for MX2 Prospects they have Rene Hofer next in line maybe Liam Everts. How old is Hofer? Most likely replace Prado with Rene.

Maybe Dankers will end up there also.

It’s really not cool to bag on us so hard for that race. Clearly our guys are not accustomed to sand like that. I mean He lapped up to 8th in your super stacked GP field. You know guys who specialize in this stuff. I think everyone not named Herlings is lucky it isn’t there. He had over 30 seconds on TC and over a min on 5th in the second moto. It was almost survival mode for most of the field. Hell even Herlings ate it at the end of his moto 2 lol

By this logic, Herlings has two titles I believe. As your counting Tomacs national championship we should count national championships for everyone. AC probably has a shitton of those too.

So when Herlings beat Tomac at ironman it was only because Tomac was racing for a championship and Herlings was not but when Webb beat Herlings in Charlotte asHerlings wrapped up his title?

At least be consistent with your bullshit

Herlings is the best motocross rider in the world, he’s doing it in different countries. Tomac has incredible speed too at times but until he does it in MXGP and beats Herilngs to a title he can’t be the best in the world. Winning in your own country is different to winning MXGP.

In the US Tomac Can be on Herlings level, but Herlings is on that level week-in, week-out in any country or any track right now. And even faster on a deep sand track like Lommel!

So Red Bud could be a big entertaining battle since Tomac is on home turf and he can definitely win there but if Tomac wants to prove he’s the best in the world outdoors winning Red Bud doesn’t prove anything more than we already know - he’s awesome on his home tracks.

He has to ride the full world championship, that’s when the you really find out how good a rider is. 20 rounds in all different terrain in different countries is a different ball game to your own national championship, it’s the true measuring stick for the best motocrosser in the world.

Herlings has all-time speed and he’s the fastest man on the planet right now, he is an insane talent and we are all lucky to witness him ride a bike like he can just like RC, Bubba, Everts, Cairoli and RV.

Why do you think Prado will stay in the class?
I don't know the guy, but with all the stories of him moving to the US and him now likely to win the title just doesnt make me think he is going to stay in this class for years.

As for the guys you mention, Hofer is a mega talent who will get a shot. However the others have not been "special".
Dankers hasnt won in EMX125 after 3 seasons. Lieber isnt going to win a GP in MXGP. And Liam Everts is a talent, but without the Everts name he would just be a fast kid that hasnt won anything yet in 85cc (he hasnt won a moto in the dutch masters in 2 years for example).

Only thing making me thinking he will stay down is because them not having someone lined up to replace him. As far as we know they don't have someone to even replace Jonas. Also Prado committing to MXGP by saying he doesn't want to go to America, says he wants to be the next big thing in MXGP. And if he wants to be up there with Cairolli and Everts hes going need those MX2 titles.

Hofer is pretty much guaranteed a ride for MX2.

With Lieber I was thinking also the lines as another Coldenhoff he's there for the top 10, few top 5s. As when Cairoli's contract ends they will have Herlings, and a confident Jonas.

Dankers again he is just another one of those riders who might not win but he's always within the top 10.

Liam I dunno but because of his name its going to help him. Also he has a lot of time to progress as a rider till MX2 he has come a long way this year imo.

Here's another Jett Lawrence. I know hes now signed with Amsoil Honda now but KTM could of tried to pick him up, would of loved to see him get a chance. Personally I think Jett could of gone places in MXGP, hopefully he does well in America.

I Dont think tomac not running a full mxgp season is valid, thats like saying herlings has to race our championship and half of sx in order to be as good as tomac, which would be a rediculous expectation.

HOWEVER.

I do agree that tomac needs somemore overseas gp experience in order to statistically be comparable at this point. Though i believe they are on the same level, just in different championships

Until Herlings races 3 years of sx and survives those years in the big guy classes, including doing the length of season in the US, he cannot be compared to Tomac!
I’m on the Herlings train for sure, the 2 just cannot be compared as a who’s best comparison.

I’m enjoying both equally!

Just had another thought about them not really having anymore talent than Hofer. They were supporting 3 riders in EMX at one point Prado, Pootjes and was the other Jonass? Anyway now they only have one supported rider, is it because of the lack of talent or there lack of money? When did they start supporting Rene because I have only heard of his name this year.

I actually see Prado in the MX2 for a good 4 years plus. He's only 17 and has until the age of 23. Besides , it isn't like he's a very big kid. I'd like to see him win 2 , 3 or even 4 championships before he moves up.....but that's a long way off.

Point prove. Now with that being said is still best on the planet right now ONLY BECAUSE HE RACES SUPERCROSS.
Herlings had 3 MX2 titles in 7 seasons because he wrecked himself. Your argument is invalid.

Lol. Lap Tomac. I am a big herlings fan as i am a tomac fan, but thats funnny. By your theory. That would mean tomac would lap herlings twice at a sx race.
