Pastrana Cant Scrub

8/6/2018 2:35pm
His last race in 09 he trained with Reed for two weeks to learn how to scrub. He told me he could scrub, but doing at speed was very foreign to him. The scrub didn’t come along until he was well out of racing.

There are riders who have more hablidades than others, if not all are equal, Pastrana can not do well scrub or whip, but he does many other incredible jumps, his last supercross races were very fun to watch, in one I think he do not classify for the main, because he broke his radiator in fight with other riders, the guy is great as well.

I tried to get it going earlier, but no one wanted to play. Could’ve been HOF Thread #2 on the subject. lol

My son and I were at that race in St.Louis (honestly, he's the reason we went). Not sure if he could have won but he was incredible till his radiator got split open. I'm sure most of you guys know he was hands down the fan favorite. The pits were a virtual ghost town except around Pastami. I've been around the sport for many decades and tell you truly...he was the most loved, adored racer I've ever seen. It's a good thing he never had plans of world domination cause he just owned people's love...I ain't jokin' fellas.

who gives a fuck? can they do backflips? times change. A 40th place c rider can scrub but you dont see them ever getting to the top.

Further, i thing peoples idea of a scrub and a SCRUB is worlds apart. Personally i think it gets fucking boring watching dudes do it just for show. When your going too fast to hit a jump then ok, until then concentrate on late breaking and power delivery and posture on the bike you morons. You might make a B rider someday.

This man was trained by Yoda. That's legit advice.

How crazy is it that a child prodigy, lorettas winner, turned sx champion, a guy who can do a double backflip on a dirtbike, has beaten McGrath and Carmichael, cant scrub? It makes noooooooo sense. I know kids on 65s that can scrub their ass off. Hes one of the most talented people on a dirt bike in history, hands down, but cant do a basic riding technique that 11 yr olds can do? How...

Do u think its more of him refusing to learn it, not wanting to, hes too tall, idk. What do u guys think? He talks about how disappointed that he is that he cant do it, it makes him feel old, and it costs him a ton of time on a stupid single. He says he hates the technique since he cant do it lol and how hes getting his time crushed by it.

Why can he not do this he owns a freaking foam pit for christs sake. Not to mention a basic scrub is easy, easier than a fat ass whip over a triple. A bubba scrub is very hard, especially over huge jumps. But a lil scrubby scrub over a single.... my dad can literally do them n hes 61. Wtf travis.

who gives a fuck about TP199 not being able to scrub, what fucks does it do to his career, his performances?

Sad state of immaturity that someone really has to start a thread because Pastrana cannot scrub. Get some valium if you have trouble sleeping at night.

People are always going on about how big Malcolm is...I have eaten breakfast with him and his parents (hotel at Thunder Valley)...he's like a miniature human. Larger as racer go but in no way huge. I've always been amazed at how such small people can muscle a 450 around.

Just some dude that turned a high octane travelling circus into a Las Vegas residency show.

Other than that he's no big deal.

You’re high! Malcolm is not close to being a miniature human. I’m 5’9.5 and this is me standing next to the “miniature human.” Malcolm is at least 6 foot tall!

Lol why do people get such a tude on here. Never did I say he sucks, I actually said hes one of the most talented people of all time to throw a leg over a bike. All Im saying is since hes one of the best Im just surprised he cant do something that the local kids can do, relax. I dont get why people have to be like fuck you idiottt he cant scrub but he can do ______. Yes that was my whole point...

People saying it doesnt matter or he doesnt care.... watch the video it mattered and he cared. He said he was losing a few seconds on the wall jump alone by not scrubbing and he was annoyed because he cant do it. Its not a big deal to ask why you think he cant scrub when he can literally do everyyyyything else on a bike. I just found it weird because kids on 65s can do it so you would think its a given he could. I guess there has to be something he cant do. Im not saying he sux lol relax.

Lol...I'm 6'3" so I guess it's all relative. My son is 6'6" and he probably thinks I'm small.

Lol! I was surprised he was as big as he was. Never would have guessed it. He’s a solid dude. Looked to be in shape. His arms were huge. (In a muscular way)

I don't remember what year but there was a SX in vegas where there was a quad coming back into the stadium in a rhythm section where he was the only one on a 125 doing it. I think there was only a few guys on 250s doing it too and this was before the 4 stroke era. pastrami is a freak of nature!

Thats the entire point......... he can do incredible things that nobody else can do but when racing straight rythm cant scrub a wall jump. Thats literally the point, how many people can double back flip but he cant scrub. I said hes one of the best ever I guess it just shows hes not perfect n has to be unable to do something cuz he can do pretty much everything.
