Just watched the vid... SX or no SX, I bet he races some GPs as part of his swan song
I don't think he would race the GPs. He would have a really hard time taking top 15 there. The MX1 is super deep.

Paging Smart Top Honda. Build the burned Honda bridge back up. No better market or place for him.

It wouldn't be about the finishes though, would be more about the personal experience before exiting the sport as a competitor, and exposure to his international fan base. Don't think he'd do a ton of races, but a few select rounds could make sense. Surely some team over there would love the PR that comes with CR22

That was exactly what I was thinking. As much as want him out there I don’t see a factory team bringing him on. Idk why people dislike the guy he’s got more determination and grit than anyone

But then when he takes 20th the team has to worry about him talking trash on the bike. That's not good PR.

Chad seems like one of those guys that has a really hard time coping with getting older and not being a top rider anymore. Its like hes always in defense mode in every interview.

He's had a great career and should be proud.

On the other hand i understand that it can be tough leaving the thing you have done your entire life and trying to figure out what to do next.

Where would he go? The only realistic option is a team like Motoconcepts. I don't see any of the factory teams investing in Chad.
Is the field deep tho? Look at the nationals

I just watched the video, and it is as I expected. He was being honest, I didn't see it as cocky or whatever at all. I understand totally about being tired of paying employees and watching your money fly out the window. Some of you guys get so butt hurt on stuff like this, I don't see how you make it through life without major meltdowns. If most superstars talked openly and honestly, I would say they agreed with a majority of Chad's view. People with money like to keep it, not continue to burn it when there are other options.

I heard through a RELIABLE source that Tedder racing sent him an offer...it includes a discount on everything, even graphics

There's an abnormal amount of injuries this year. Usually we lose 3-4 factory riders due to injury, I think we're at about 10 right now.

I know it's a bit out there but did Red Bull KTM fill their 2nd spot? Maybe he could tent with them for SX.

What I particularly like is he was put on retirement by every factory teams ... then he showed up and performed better than the factory team of the brand he was on for like 6 years. No doubt a few people in the industry are butt hurt and will bash any time they can !

That speaks volume on the dedication and talent so I really hope he gets a good ride to get some top 5-8 at ... 37 years old, 10 years older than RC/RV/Dungey's retirement !!!

I heard he's in talks with Tom Cruise to bring in a major new sponsor...

His autograph line at Daytona a year ago was one of the longest. He would be an asset to a factory team.

People need to understand his position at that time with Honda.
Running his program as he did, it was always 100% Professional & 100% Commitment.
Honda recently restructured their upper management on the Racing side here in the USA.
Without naming names, all I’ll say is 3 Principals who from Day1 never stuck to their collective words written or otherwise, so I don’t blame my former Boss 1 bit.
Everything said was changed & mostly not honored after the fact, hence my Bosses bitterness.
Any human in his shoes would’ve felt likewise.
Now, let’s just say Big Reds Big Red again.
Props to them all for their In-house remodel.

He is a great character for the sport and a great story. I’m sure he would be a fun guy to grab a beer with and talk about old times but he is just deluded. Saying he is more marketable basically than anyone else?! Has he seen Ken Roczen. The guy basically lost the use of one arm, came back ridiculously fast and was straight on pace and nearly lost the other and still turns up for outdoors and is pretty much class of the field. Chad, get a reality check.

I'm sure if Reed took a bit more time to think about it he would have included Roczen. It was just a few months back in another interview that he said he, Stewart, and Roczen are the most marketable guys.

Dam I was bout to take his bet too... Top 5 in the shape he looks as long as he gets a ride definitely doable. Overall top 5 end of season Not impossible but highly unlikely

The dude for sure can still be a top 10 guy. Yes he had a shitty year, but Reed has a lot more than that in him. Dude was not even suppose to be walking at A1.
