Why does Speed TV HD look like it's from a 1976 VHS tape?

Compared to the beautiful CBS HD broadcasts, the S-TV SX coverage sucks.

Maybe I'm not getting Speed in HD from my cable company?

Anyone getting the Speed SX coverage in HD?

I don't get Speed HD with time warner.

I normally wait a few days and download the HD torrent, the speed regular broadcast is junk. Better than nothin', but still junk.

Everything on Speed HD doesn't broadcast with a bad picture, but the SX broadcast do. It must be how it's produced.

Motocross in HD is similar to that shitty Fox gear where you can't tell what's going on. Like most of the graphics on Team bikes these days. It's so busy with colors and combined with the color of the dirt it just doesn't contrast well.

Even on the podium the HD looks awful because the podium background is way too busy. When they do Interviews in the pits the picture looks way better.

When they showed an overhead view of the infield at Daytona the track really stood out against that green grass because it was a solid color.

Football games look the best in HD for the same reason. Field is green and the uniforms are solid colors with very little going on besides numbers and a stripe running down the pants.

It's the difference between this Team Honda bike which is very clean and the other bike which you can't tell what the hell is going on.

All I know is it looks like ass. wide shots of the track look blurry, and light seems to bounce off every dirt clod...Weird.

Directv with the HD receiver, no complaints here. However, I order the nfl package every year and the picture quality is atrocious. Order the package in HD for way to much money, I cant justify spending extra.

Ummmm, I don't think that's it. The quality of the broadcast (picture), just isn't as good. It's not nearly as clear as it should be.

Comcast broadcasts the regular Speed channel here as well as a Speed HD channel.

When you watch the show on Speed HD, things look fine. When you watch it on the regular Speed channel, it looks really bad.

Try switching from Cable to Direct TV because my HD speed is fine.

The clarity of Supercross is still effed up though with all color contrasts.

I have comcast and I called them about it not being HD like annouced. Comcast says the do not have HD speed but you could bypass it by not using the cable box. But then you could not record it as well.

Like I said before I don't think that's it because other broadcast on Speed don't show up blury like that for me. There is a clear difference between SX and other broadcast. I have 120 Hz and you can tell that there is a difference.

Speed's broadcast over regular def is shit quality.

As far as I know, only Direct TV carries Speed Channel HD.

I've got Time Warner, and Speed's picture on a 50" 1080P plasma is un-watchable.

We have Charter and only get speed in standard def. Watched the broadcast a few times and the quality was poor. Sad Haven't gotten to see any of the ones on CBS, but I would hope that would look better due to HD signal.

Same here.

As far as Speed HD on cable, well now, that could be a different story....

In fact a little too good. At the end of the show, when they do the podium interviews, my wife and daughters always exit immediately. I know it's not a fashion shoot, but I have to admit, the close up shots of a guy just after he has finished a 20 lap moto can be, shall we say, a little "Persperation filled"

Speed HD is not as clear as the other HD channels.
I believe the speed & CBS HD SX broadcasts are nothing but a compressed digital version of the broadcast. But I never had a any problems with them looking fuzzy like something out of the 70's. Smile

I don't have any real issues with the Speed HD picture quality, but I find the background sounds seem louder than Ralph and Jeff.

Maybe that's not such a bad thing though....

It sucks when the HD is shoved down on regular cable. Looks exactly like the crap you guys are describing on the TV in the playroom. Through the HD set top box is fine.

no it doesn't. that is about the dumbest comment i've seen concerning "HD". you sound like an HD when you say shit like this.

The broadcast is in HD it is not a dedicated HD channel and it looks like ass vs other HD broadcasts.
I am just happy I get current Mx .
