There is also an ongoing investigation on reports of two males wearing ski masks entering the Kawi rig and doing something to Eli's bike; one of them was a chubby individual and the other a very skinny guy wearing a shirt with kittens printed on it.

It was electrical. This came from someone that dates a mechanics sister.

Yeah, the capacitor reversed polarity and caused kickback which broke internal engine parts. Don't you know anything about engines?

The flux capacitor reversed the inductance in the girdlegate pulse ignition ECU.

That extra couple of seconds per lap he is putting on the field must to put a lot more stress on his equipment.
Imagine how much stress must be on Herlings bike then Whistling

They mistakenly used parts left over from Davi's locker.

If the Vital Forums have taught me anything, Eli should have been able to ride this out, he completely gave up right here...

Eli should consider buying a piece of land in Kazakhstan, and don't mind getting any oxen cause he showed amazing plowing skills yesterday.

Was definitely a broken clutch cable.

Definitely.

Issue was he couldn't stay on the bike and that's what lost him the points lead. Mechanicals are a part of racing and no doubt it didn't help but you have to be able to deal with a bad gate pick and bad start better than that.

Why wouldn’t the team tell you what the issue was? I’m failing to understand the reasoning for that. It’s a racing machine and racing machines have failures. If an f1 team has a mechanical they don’t go into absolute detail but they will tell you the part(s) at fault and promise to work to fix it.

It’s not like it’s a new bike and they are about to reveal some scary failure that could impact all kawi’s sold.

It’s more like someone messed something up and they are protecting that person, like it ran out of gas (don’t think that was it)

Kawasaki's (real) official statement tells it like it is and makes it very clear.
"The race looked to be wrapped up with more than a 10 second lead with approximately two laps to go when Tomac was forced to pull off resulting in a DNF."

I was told a hole in case. So guessing a rock or stone and no oil in it.

That's really one of the most amazing things to me about RC's 3-year run.... not a single DNF in 24 motos x 3 years.

Tomac lifted the bike off the track - Meaning he knew without a shadow of a doubt the bike was done ! Not like oh why did it cut out try and kick start to get going - It like get the POS out of here ! It did free wheel for a period down the hill then he bumped it and it locked up for good - He did try get it back into neutral which did not work that well and he was not bothered at that point - Went back to the pits with his rear wheel dragging behind him. The Kawasaki we do not know what is was was honest in they would have to tear down the motor to find what happened. Went bang !

I'M not an Eli fan but he did gain a bit when he pushed his own broken bike back rather then dumping it on the ground and wondering away like JS17 does the pro circuit kawi when it blows

Rupert's pics show that it took two people trying hard to push it back. Locked rear wheel. Time to pull the chain rather than drag that beast around. That almost certainly transmission related. The only team running an oil cooler, hmm nothing suspicious here.

He should have rode the '19, maybe he will now and unleash the dragon!

Not if the oil blows out without hitting the exhaust.
