So in MX/ SX a rider can loose his career?? Has there ever been any rider in the history of testing in MX and SX make a successful come back to the sport?

4 game suspension in NFL.... Four year suspension in MX/SX. Makes zero sense.

C’mon man. The NFL doesn’t penalize them 4 games because that’s what they think is fair. They penalize them 4 games because the players have an incredible amount of leverage in negotiating the bargaining agreement that sets all the rules. Pretty much everyone in sports knows the PED testing and penalties in the NFL are a joke.

Is USADA responsible for testing American collegiate NCAA athletes or professional sport leagues like the NFL, NHL, MLB, or NBA?
Generally not. Most professional sports leagues and the NCAA are not WADA Code signatories, and their anti-doping programs are conducted privately in-house by these organizations. One exception is professional athletes who also participate in Olympic sports (e.g. basketball, hockey). These athletes are subject to USADA testing in the lead up to the Games. USADA is responsible for the testing program and results management for athletes in Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American, and Parapan American sport. Please see the previous question to understand what constitutes Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American, and Parapan American sport. USADA also conducts testing by contract for sports and/or events that fall outside this group, such as professional boxing, dance, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

The NFL is huge, unionized and they are not going to set their superstars for 4 years. Maybe if MXers can develop the multi million world wide viewers and a billion dollar sports franchise they may have a little more leverage. As it sits now you better keep your shit clean or your career is over

This old nag has been beat to a pile of bones but here's an analogy...State X only gives probation to child molesters. State Y gives prison time. The crime is the same only the jurisprudence is different.

The NFL has nothing to do with USADA and WADA. The NFL set it's suspensions which is approved by the NFLPA. Can't even compare the two.

At the level the players are at in the NFL if you're not using some form of performance enhancing supplement, you'll be out of a job. Have you ever seen these guys in person, up close? They are freaks of nature. The lineman are 6'3-6'8, all over 300lbs, some with 10% body fat or less. That is NOT natural. These guys graduate college and are expected to gain 30lbs of muscle in a few short months just to be able to compete, and they have to run faster, jump higher, hit harder too. Hate to break it to you, but every single player in the NFL is not 100% natural.

Its just like the Lance Armstong deal with cycling. Yes Lance got busted. Yes Lance was cheating. Yes Lance dominated the sport while not being honest and 100% natural. He was caught, and made a pariah. What you dont hear is how the next 20 guys behind him were all on the exact same drug cocktail Lance was on.

As for MX/SX the riders need a union. Flat out. They need representation. This draconian era of arbitrary decision making by people 7,000 miles away in an ivory tower ending careers has to come to an end. The AMA and FIM aren't going to do sh!t until the riders from the factory guys to the privateers collectively come together as a singular bargaining body and force change. For good measure get the mechanics and team truck drivers in the riders union too.

Would be nice for the riders but the sport isn’t big enough. The mumblings about unions have been going on for years and if it hasn’t come close to happening yet it certainly wont happen in the future. It’s not growing

Get the agents for the top riders in the same room with a contract laying out what what the overall goal is and you have it done. The stars of the sport are the entertainment. If Roczen, Tomac, Musquin are all on the same page then there is nothing anyone can do to stop them. There has to be at least a couple things each of those riders agree on and want to see changed in the sport. Start with something simple like the triple crown. I don't recall if any of them like it or not. If they don't then they can form a collective voice and say we won't be racing those.

Then move onto the schedule. I'm sure they don't want to race each and every weekend. Let's say they all want more time between supercross and motocross. They can say we won't race until this date. It can happen. But it won't happen. No one is that organized in this industry.

Union guys don't rich. Feld Entertainment is worth 1.8 Billion dollars. They are the only ones getting rich. Riders have to pay to race. Do Baseball or football players pay to play each game? If you make a night show, you get about $800 and $1000 for top 22 up to $12k for a win. The parking at Anaheim rakes is 4 million is sales - - Just the parking!! Each race should have multiple millions in prize money. The whole thing is a joke. Then people blame WADA, they just test. They don't enforce or make the rules. That's all the AMA and Feld. The reason why NFL, Baseball, and Basketball players make so much is because that's who you watch and that's who represents your city. Could an owner sell tickets and TV time if they had high school kids playing or if the owners and coaches played against each other? No. In motocross we have top 3 guys and top 12 guys. That's it. It wouldn't take much to get together and unionize. No one wants to watch Tedder and Alex Rey battle in the main. (no offense) I would make it one race DQ. No PED can make you scrub better or at all, blitz whoops better, or drag bar better. If they did, I would have a five gallon bucket of them in my kitchen.

Factory contracts trump riders voices.

Chris Froome seems to think he is racing the Tour De France even though he had and “adverse finding” of an asthma drug in his system in Italy a couple of months ago.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/may/27/chris-froome-giro-ditalia…

I have a tough time comparing his case to Tickles immediate suspension.
