KTM 350 SXF opinions/?

16' 350sxf race 450B, 25+ & 30+ in GA. Loved the bike from the first ride. We have a variety of different surfaces from deep sand to hard dried red clay. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about the bike.

Went up one tooth on the rear trying to make it a little easier to keep the rmp's up. I was shocked at how much the 51 tooth rear actually helped. Won't go back to a 450, it's the perfect bike.

The 350 definitely requires less effort to ride fast than a 450 and ultimately for me that meant I enjoyed riding way more. That said, the new KX450 looks interesting especially now it has electric start!

I agree with this 100%

I love my 2018 350SXF. I came off of a 2016 YZ250F and this bike feels as light and twice as fast.

If you are a 450 guy that sits down 90% of time time and carries 1-2 gears higher than you should be everywhere you will not like this bike.

If you have the skill to take advantage of the handling, can carry momentum and like to rev you will love it. If you want to stop pivot and gas it you will hate it. Imop

I've thought about picking up a 350 because I wish the 250 had a little more grunt and a 450 is just way too much for me. I know you still have to rev the 350 but do the have much more bottom end compared to a 450?

Compared to a 250? Yes there’s more. But the motor was still designed to rev. So adding a tooth to the rear and the inherent 100cc’s. You notice it. Will it tow your boat like a 450? No.

I think you would notice the increase at all ranges coming off a 250f

i think it depends on your style.. For me, im on a 16kx450 with the black couple and a yosh slip on, and i like my power to be mid to top, i typically enter corners fast, but i find myself in 3rd almost everywhere even in corners, and i cant stand the tug boat torque feeling in corners, it unsettles me which then unsettles the bike and then i mess up the corner or i abuse the clutch like i would on a 2 smoker and everything goes smooth. (on tighter 90 degree corners, sweepers i dont have this problem.) But on the 350, you can leave it in 3rd without having to use the clutch and still roll on the throttle without climbing ruts or unsettling the bike. and my level is 25+b/c, probably closer to AMA national C, but locally can run B and do alright.

My next bike will more than likely be a 350.. although i really want the suspension off the 19 kx450..

I'm currently on a 450. I hardly ever sit. Never carry taller gears. I really need to find one of these bikes to ride. Thanks for the input.

I am afraid that if I get a 19 350, my 17 250sx that is well equipped may end up just sitting.

Similar situation. 450 is my MX race bike, 250SXF is for fun. 350 would replace the 250 as the play bike...and occasional off-road weapon. Be sad to let the 250 go, but I don’t like it in deep conditions, sand. I think the 350 would be fine everywhere. I have ridden them, will demo the new one in October. But what about that 150SX or the 250SX?! Arrggggh!

You would like the 350. With my 250SXF at a local track have to nail a certain corner perfectly to clear a jump, (a non issue on my 450). A guy offered up his 350, no problem with knowing I had the beans to clear the jump. In fact hit everything first lap. I came away thinking the 350 is 20% less of a beast than a 450, but corners 20% better and wears you out 20% less. You can hammer the throttle harder on corner exit, but will still get 20% smoked down a long straight by a 450.

every time i have compared a 16+ 350 to a 14+yz250f, I personally have liked the yam better! Just sayin'...

A dude on TT was pleased with the full yosh. Apparently the header is longer and made a good difference

I am similar....had 16 YZ250F and 16 350XCF same time....the YZ250F often times felt almost as quick as the 350 and much lighter feeling in motion...makes me wonder how good the 19 YZ250F will work

I've ridden a KTM 300 EXC back to be with a 250SX and I was amazed at how much lighter and peppier the SX was. I haven't ridden any off road four stroke KTMs but I would imagine a motocross specific model would trump it on a track. My 17 KTM 350 SXF is a great bike, but if I was under 200lbs I would probably still be on a 250F.

In a perfect world, I’d have an ‘18 or ‘19 150SX and 350SXF instead of my 17.5 FE 250 and 450. The ‘tweener bikes are awesome!

Just rode the 19's today at winchester. 350 was my favorite i normally ride a yz 250.

350 = more lung capacity/stamina
450 = Wear more on muscles

It is the same as riding a 125 vs 450. You will gasp for oxygen rather than muscles wear you out on the 125.

So, when you ride, what in above is your limitation?

I can give or take the 350. Took me the better part of 60hrs to learn how to ride it properly. I also think it take more time to setup then either a 250f or a 450f due to the non defining power characteristics.

As for durability, I have a 16 350xcf, with a hair under 365hrs and she run great and this is a bone stock, untouched motor.

If you prefer a 450 but want a little less, I don't think a 350 is the bike for you. But if you have a 250f but want a little more, I think the 350 is the bike for you...

I had a 15 and hated it. The 19 was better than the 18 i rode. Although im a 2 stroke guy i really liked the 250f and 350f. At 140 pounds i felt squirrelly on the 450.
18 250sx i rode jetting was horrendous but the 19 seemed pretty decent.
