I was looking at the 450 entry list for Hangtown and noticed Steinke was listed on a KTM 250sx sponsored by Motorsport Hillsboro. How do you think he will fair on the 250 in the 450 class compared to the 125 in the 250f class?

The real question is, is he planning on lining up at Glen Helen next week??? No replacement for displacement when it comes to Mt. St. Helen

That being said... I hope the dude throws it down and actually can score a point in such a depleted 450 field

Unless he sneaks a 300 kit on there. Whistling the videos ive seen they changed the track so that there is a straight before st helen instead of the left hander at the bottom. Plus a 250 will pull his tiny ass up no problem.

Hmm, good call... Tech may be too busy tearing down half of the bikes from the 125 race to notice Steinke lol

If he rocks a true 250 to say 18th place, or thereabouts, he will be a hero. If he tries to cheat with a 300 kit, and gets caught, he will just be known as a cheater.
At least that's how I would view it.

Nah, it was a joke based on some wink-wink nod-nod comments heard from guys like Ping who raced the 125 races last year.

Stock, the 250 is roughly 10 hp down on the 450s. Even with a 300 kit he would be still be at a disadvantage. Anyways i was joking about putting one on.

250’s are better on an MX track anyway. 300 kits make them flat on top.

Probably no advantage over the 250.

Why wouldn’t he be able to put a 300 kit in it? I know you can’t race a 250 2t in the 250 class, but what’s wrong with a 300 in the 450 class?

Your question has yet to be answered.... I guess reading comprehension isn't a strong characteristic here. Smile

I think he will do better on a 250 in the 450 class than a 125 in lites. I would guess that most 250fs on the line have pretty decked out motors where the bottom 20 in the 450 class might have motors closer to stock. I think that stock, a 250 is more competitive vs a 450 than 125 vs 250f... Also I would think the talent in the 450 class drops off more quickly but what do I know?

If he can qualify and even score a point on the 125, I think he will do just fine on a 250.

If he does qualify maybe 35th with a couple of guys on 450's with DNF's.. It will be hard to make up for the 10 or so extra ponies..

If his fitness is there, points would be no problem with a 250 2 stroke!

I think a 250 vs 450 will be less of a disadvantage than 125 vs 250f. Wherever he finishes I'm sure the crowd will be cheering him on

Uhh, not sure at the moment, too busy trying to see if this "Motorsport Hillsboro" has a website and something I can buy.
