Hi, I’m wanting to order a Hinson clutch plate set. Is the 450x clutch the same as the 450r ?
Bto or Rocky Mountain only have the 450x plates listed.
Cheers

There different and Rocky Mountain does not have any for the 17-18 setup. The plates are different on the stock hub. Hinson makes a 7 plate for stock remove judder spring, Barnett makes extra plate kit for removing judder also. My 17 fiber right after judder spring broke and smoked my clutch

If you go stock you can order extra fiber and do away with the judder that way. I have a complete Barnett extra plate setup brand new in the box if your interested. When my old clutch got wiped out I was in a bind to get one and they took to long to ship and I put a different setup in it.

Have you rode with the 20mm clamps yet? Getting ready to try the same setup. Was wondering what your results were with that offset. Thanks
Sorry for the delayed response. I’ve only ridden it 3 times with the 20 offset, but I really like the feel so far. To me, the initial turn in feels better and keeping in ruts seems better. Haven’t ridden on a big rough track yet though.

I love football but I love moto more lol
Here’s mine, took this yesterday while at Hangtown and some others from a couple weeks ago.

She’s at around 71 hours or so. No problems but I did not gel with this bike for the first 40 hours I had it and even tried to sell it a couple times. After putting the ride eng link arms on it and having race tech set up the suspension I fell in love. I did the Tokyo Mods remap on the stock ignition and PC exhaust. I put a new top end in it around the 60 hour mark just because. Upped the compression a bit with a 13:9 from vertex, ported the head, and was supposed to have a vortex ignition from Twisted Development but they sent one for a 16 and haven’t got any in for a 17 yet.

I had a set of CVs from my KTM that I just recently sold and I got a great deal on a new set for the Honda. They are good BUT the stock valving from the factory is not working for me or with my race tech shock. WP did a pretty good job on my KTM set I had so I know what these forks are capable of. I’m just bummed that I have to send them off along with more $$

Overall, very happy with the bike and will be on this bike for quite a while.

Hey man I noticed the WC braces and was just curious did you have any issues with figment and what did you do on the left side about the wiring harnesses that was held by the tie on the frame spar?

I reposition the harness and re tie it. Ran some of the words around the back side and put the boot on the top side of the frame instead of the lower, this way you also don't have any wiring just hanging. No fitment problems. I had the right side rubbing one of the cv4 hoses a tiny bit, so I just double wrapped the hose with another hose in that little spot

I bought mine used, real cheap off a rich kid. I’ve only ridden it once, but I love the handling. Problem is, I’m coming off a bike with a Rekluse EXP 3.0 clutch, and I’ve come to realize how dependent I am on the auto clutch now. On my way home from my first day of riding, I ordered a new Radius CX and installed it this week. I also ordered a single side FMF exhaust that should be here soon. On MXAs advice, I removed the rear tank bolts and front muffler bolts to reduce frame rigidity.

Honestly, that ride linkage makes this bike a whole different animal when it comes to cornering. Much much better, I would say it's a must. Never even rode the 18 without it and only rode the 17 a handful of times without it.
I'm down in Fl so we have a mix of everything. Sand mostly but I get on some choppy hard packed stuff at times.

After over a year of trying to decide what to do, it came down to a matter of $$$$ for me, since my wife and I are actively looking for our next home.

Leftover 17, just picked her up Saturday. My first new bike in 10 years (07crf450). I'll be 8500 in after getting all the odds and ends I need/want and getting my suspension setup. Factory Connection does a mod to the shock/valving to get a similar progressive change that the linkage arm provides, yet 200$ cheaper. I didn't want electric start, hope I get one of the good ones

You’ll love it I got the 17 starts every time 2 kicks no issues. Factory Connection did mine and I could not be happier with it. I am going to add lowering links to mine

I'm on a 2017 CRF450R and ran into my first issue at 90 hours of ride time.

I topped the bike off with fuel and headed out onto the track. Was half a lap in when the bike decided to bog down. I shift down from 3rd to 2nd, then 2nd to 1st. The bike then continued to bog out. After this point in time the bike would not start again.

The bike did no seize and appears to have compression. When the bike is kicked, the kill switch displays an orange light.
I removed the air filter and added a little starting fluid and the bike seemed like it wanted to start but didn't. I have since then removed the fuel pump, cleaned the fuel filter, and bench tested the pump itself. The fuel pump was just put back into the bike. No further actions were taken yet.

Also has anyone run into the front of their chain sliders wearing out rather quickly?

The Ride link is $200 ( i got mine for $150 on a memorial day sale) so you are saying FC does it for free? or you sent the shock off to get revalved and they put the spacer in for free while in there? I don't know how well the spacer works, I have never went that route, but the Ride link on this bike is the best $150 I have ever spent on any bike. Makes me wonder how Honda missed the linkage length that bad, as I haven't found a downside to it yet.

gday mate, new to the Honda world after last having one in 07. My new bike is a 17. What was the improvement with the longer linkage? How much longer are they, thanks!

There’s a 1mm difference I believe. It’s suppose to settle the rear a little better. If you have suspension revalved without link they put a shim in there to kind of do the same thing the link does.
