So Dunge was self trained and won what , 5 championships prior to joining Aldon in 2015. Few years back Bob Hannah said why do riders need a trainer year in and out? If you can't learn what all you need to compete in a year? Becomes a huge money pit. Betting JA will be fine. He a crafty rider.

He's just signed with Husky for 3 /4 years?
Fu#k the training it's party time!

Like a few people have said its not like he is going to un-learn what he has learned from Aldon. It is all information that he can take with him in the future. Plus he was there long enough that he knows what goes on and what he liked and didnt like. I think he will do just fine if he leaves. We had an Olympic trainer that lived near us growing up and in high school and he would come over and help us maybe once a month with lifting and exercise plans. Still to this day it is something I can go back to for a start.

Personally in our sport which we love... I never understood the training with your rival when you reach the premier class.

I feel/ felt like it would be a conflict of interest, I mean were all human and to race and train with the same dude who may or maynot beat your ass every weekend would breed animosity and maybe even a few thoughts of ill will towards your rival. To know you guys are doing the exact same thing and hes still winning would also bum me out and cause self doubt.

So im pumped to see what anderson has, if he really left the baker factory. Might be a good thing

I dont think you could've gotten RC and Reed to train together for anything back when they were going at it.

I was just thinking of other non team sports. I don't think golfers or tennis players practice with their rivals. Road bike racers practice as teams I believe. So there is that.

But there is significantly more money in those sports so the athletes can afford higher level coaches without breaking their own bank.

It may just be the way the sport has operated for a long time. And there is some validity to practicing with those who are comparable in speed.

Guess I understand both sides of the argument.
Golfers and tennis players do practice together.

I'm pretty sure if Jason is leaving , he already has a place to go and with another trainer. I don't blame him for wanting to leave if he thought he was getting treated as 2nd fiddle. Where ever he goes , I just hope he keeps the same intensity and training going.
If he want's to be top dog he has to beat the top dog....Jason has only a few loose ends to tidy up and he will be a weekly threat to win and right there when Vegas arrives....

It is still way early to start this up but what the hell, I'll pick #21 to manage and win this series now that Eli has dropped so many points...

Didn't RC leave Aldon in his final few years. Can anybody confirm this. I'm thinking Ricky has commented something to the effect of, "I don't really need Aldon at this point" but I can remember for sure. That was a while ago.

I seem to recall the same thing.

I think Ezra Lusk and RC used to train together, but I also believe that relationship ended badly.

I have no idea if Jason is 'leaving' or just working with Aldon remotely so he and Marv don't have to train together every day. They haven't been training together for the past few months.

Why would you want to train, day in and day out with one of your main competitors? A ride here or there is one thing, but to spend all your time training beside a guy that you most probably will be going head to head against for important positions on the track is not a really good scenario.

When Roczen was riding for Ricky's team, Ricky said that Ken didn't need Aldon anymore. It was pretty clear that although there is definitely respect there, Ricky didn't (doesn't?) think that Baker is the end all be all for training.

Hmm. I must say I didn’t hear about this yet but I was waiting to hear someone say something about that press conference with both of them, they deffinently didn’t want to be near each other. Ando’s face said everything, I told myself Anderson’s not part of the program anymore and he’s not happy about it then you started hearing all the subliminal messages they were throwing at each other and how ando’decided’ to spend more time in Cali and then you hear marv talking about how he left and you could clearly see what happened. Marv ixnaid him. Exactly what villo did to Baggett after he got aldon, exactly what Stewart did to Dungey also. When they get that good they gotta go. Interesting you can see in marv his uncomfort that close to ando but it was a business move.

Honestly him leaving bakers is probably the best thing. He gave it his all and never really had a big jump from where he was. Also snow he can race Marvin how he would need to to win a championship. It has to be hard to take a guy wide or down that you have to see on Monday
Yeh and and Anderson comes across as someone who would get better results doing his own program like Roczen .. Aldon's program seems pretty straighty one eighty ..

well at this point i don’t see how aldon is even a true asset to either of them.

they’ve been there long enough to know exactly what to do and how the program is run. he definitely doesn’t need aldon to tell him what to do anymore, i’m sure the training regimen and whatever other aspect of the program that makes it special is imbedded in him

he can take that knowledge with him when he leaves.

it didn’t effect roczen any

What did Baker put into the sport before he started taking from the sport? Unlike most others who are involved. Not a lot!

I'm back on the Anderson band wagon now he's left Baker.
The best thing for Anderson is, when he does win a Title, Aldon might not take all the credit and claim it as one of his titles.

You have to ask, really, Baker has had the best riders for 10 years... like i have said, turning champions into champions.

Maybe Anderson decided he doesnt need it, same as Roczen, and Cianciarulo.. Lets see what he can do with Bogle and Tickle.

While I agree somewhat, how do you explain Zach Osbourne?

Anderson left the facility due to friction with Marv.... he didn’t leave Baker.

No where, and in no articles/interviews does it imply that. Ando even says them at he is still with Aldon, and on the program.... just away from the facility.

Where have you guys heard or read that he is leaving the program? Because at this point, the only info only says that he is leaving Marvin’s side.
1/11/2018 3:43pm
On the pulp podcast they said that the rumour was that he was still with Aldon and using the facility but not riding with Marvin. He's been with Dean Wilson and the KTM 250 riders under Tyla Rattrays supervision on the 250 side of the Bakersfactory.

Shane McElrath mentioned on the podcast this week about how the 250 side of the facility has its own SX and MX track so presumably gives plenty of room for Anderson and Musquin to both ride there but not be riding together. 3 SX tracks and 2 MX tracks on that facility.

Zach Osborne wins the Lites class, and he is as old as Dungey. He was the best rider in the field, on a factory bike, He beat half the riders in SX , and was by far the most experienced guy outdoors. He should have been on a 450 3 seasons ago.

He wasnt in a position where he could afford to lose, and he didnt .

There is no 'big thing ' in Lites , no new RV, or Roczen, or Tomac coming through... it was meant to be AC but he blew out early, and has done really well to rebuild after his nightmares.

Sure , he won, but who was realistically going to beat him,?

Big boy class is where its at , if he wins that , i will seriously be impressed.

Marvin is the best rider , because he is the best rider, not because he is with Aldon, he is a 2 time world champion, and a 13 year pro, its his time.

If RV was still here, Dungey hadnt bailed , and Roczen hadnt twatted himself, he'd still be a 4th place guy.

He didnt become the best , the best left , leaving him and Tomac to fill the void.

Anderson sits right in behind them

Bob Hannah never showed up for Team training and kicked everyones ass.

He went and rode in the Idaho hills for 8 hours a day. For free.

Watching some of the film with dungey and Aldon, I get the feeling that Aldon tries to also be a riding coach, and some of the advice you hear him give is far above his actual understanding of riding a motorcycle at those speeds.

Is he a great trainer? Not a doubt in my mind. Does he know with confidence that any of the technique input he’s giving is correct? Not a chance.

Jason is the man and I hope he finds whatever works for him.
It's stupid to say that Aldon knows nothing about riding technique etc, he has trained the best guys in the sport for what 15 years and your telling me he knows nothing on technique and how to ride pfft give me a break.

Next you will tell me Jeanie Carmichael and Coleen Millsaps should give it up because they where never champions.

As for the money aspect KTM/Husky paid Bakers salary.

All respect to JA but I am surprised he made it as long as he did. This is nothing against his work ethic, he obviously has no issues with due diligence. I just think he is the most individual or independent I guess of all the BakerBunch. I think it will be cool to see him probably be a little more outspoken than he already is without having to uphold a BakerBunch family photo image. Shirt un tucked an all, JA is the man. Probably the only Top 5 rider that would be fun to kick it with

Why would you leave? Fuck that, no way I would sacrifice my shot with the most prolific training program the sport has ever seen because of some petty beef.

Is Marvin beating him up? Did he take your lunch money? Shag your girlfriend?

You still have to race the guy every weekend. Be a cunt. Make the other guy uncomfortable. Enjoy the discomfort and laugh it off. Running away isn't gonna help you, it's gonna help them.

Maybe this is true, but I did notice the following correction note in yesterday's Observations column on RacerX:
2ND | #21, JASON ANDERSON | RIO RANCHO, NM | HUSQVARNA FC450

The #21 was very good out there and closed in on Marv late in the race.

[Note: In a previous edition of this column we mentioned rumors that Anderson and Marvin weren't getting along down at Baker's Factory, but Aldon himself says that's bull. So there.]

No he was with him when he retired, they had a falling out after over who Aldon decided to start working with at the time...
