Rattary lets the cat out of the bag...

http://www.mxlarge.com/detail.php?classtodisplay=homepage&idtodisplay=2088

Q: How do you like the lifestyle over there, the weather has to be better than here in europe?

Rattray: It is a lot like South Afircan and very different to Belgium where I lived in europe, the whole lifestyle is different. I have some new friends, also Grant (Langston) lives down the road. But I haven't seen too much of him, he is also trying to get ready for the outdoors, I think he want so do that, he seems all healed up now. His eye is a lot beter now, like 90% good to go. I think he will race this year. He doesn't help me too much anymore with tips and stuff.

Is this about looking foward to GL racing again or Rattray missing his attention?

Good to hear. I don't really think there is anything not to like about the guy. Good luck GL.

Hopefully he is recovered enough to come back.

It could be a Yamaha-fest in outdoors, with him, Hepler, Cody Cooper and Josh Grant.

GL8 is probably one of my favorite riders. Always giving 110%. Plus he seems like he is a good guy too.

If he can get a racing contract it sure will make for a good summer.

I actually logged back in finally.

Its terrible to see a rider go through something like this, especially the defending champ

Super excited to see another good outdoors rider actually race MOTOCROSS.

That one was filmed and edited by Brendan Lutes, who is also getting into it!

If GL DOES race the Nats this year, the AMA/Promoter should make a one time exception and allow him to run a 1x or something like that since he didn't get to run it due to illness.

He has a PR contract with them and said himself in the interview that he would need to get a racing contract before he does the outdoors.

As of right now Langston is damaged goods. I am sure Yamaha paid him what he was owed. If he has the speed someone will give him a bike. What he did 2 summers ago means nothing today.

Good luck Grant. I have many pictures and memories of your 125/250/450 career.

The AMA needs to consider not scoring riders who do not race the entire series in the 450 class. No points. No recognition. Sorry Stewart & Reed but unless you nut up and race the entire series please stay on a sunny island and have fun driving your $300,000 cars.......you deserve it. Let the men who deserve it have thier time in the sun. Don't ruin it by showing up for the sponsor money and making a mockery of the outdoor nationals.

Maybe this should have been its own thread but I am lazy tonight. Just saying.

With the whittling away of talent on the top end of the scale for the outdoors, Langston would be dumb not to take advantage of another championship. I mean he could beat those guys with an eye patch and one hand tied behind his back..

The talent for the outdoors will be better than ever minus Stewart. It would be cool to see Langston racing but he would be a huge under dog to win the outdoors

PR contract, but no Racing contract....never knew riders had the choice.

Rattray sounds like he's bitter and wanted to take a shot at Langston. Just reading between the lines with what he said. Why would a "friend" say something like that?

would be great to see 2 top South African riders in the outdoors.

I don't see how you could say that at all. To me it sounds like he's genuinely happy his friend is on the road to recovery.

Riders don't have the choice between a PR contract and a racing contract. Langston's deal was obviously restructured when it was clear he wouldn't be racing for a long time, but Yamaha still wanted to keep him part of the company.

Road racer Vicky Jackson-Bell went into surgery Monday at about 4:30 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time, at Arrowhead Medical Center in San Bernardino, California, to undergo repairs to injuries suffered in a motocross crash Friday.

Jackson-Bell, who was a professional motocrosser before switching to road racing, was seriously injured when she was knocked off her motocrosser over a jump during a track day at Glen Helen MX Park.

Jackson-Bell was tail-whipped by KTM-sponsored professional motocross racer Grant Langston, who threw his bike sideways as he passed Jackson-Bell. His rear wheel hit Jackson-Bell's arms and upper body and sent her flying off her bike and to the ground from a height of about 16 feet, according to her husband and tuner, Tony Bell.

Jackson-Bell's left femur was pushed up through the hip socket--which was broken in 30 places--by the impact, Bell said.

Bell reported that Langston and his mechanic told him at the scene that the collision was Jackson-Bell's fault and that throwing the bike sideways in mid-air over a jump is a necessary maneuver
