Its not a real supercross track , that is going to be the difference for Gajser
For sure Top 5 speed if he stays on the bike

Sure it's cool he even lines up at mec. However I don't see him finishing in the top 10. expect him to be 3-4 seconds a lap off tomac/ musquin their pace. But he might surprize like he did last year in mxgp.

He'll be a lot more competitive than that .

Will you come back and eat your words when he places inside the top 5? There's gonna be a lot of people eating their words when he's battling with Anderson and possibly Tomac and Musquin.

No doubt in my mind he can run upfront, but I just have a hard time seeing him finishing all three races. I'm a Gajser fan so it pains me to say but he already has a tendency to crash so putting him in an unfamiliar situation like that probably won't help anything.

That being said if he went to the US full time and practiced SX more he'd be a title contender for sure, just like plenty of other GP riders.

Race win, no
top 5 in a race, maybe
Lead a few laps, maybe
Top 5 overall not by own position but by inconsistency by others.

one thing i know for sure.......tim gajser will give its best effort despite what happens and what result he will have in each race.
i get that it is an american thing that when you feel that you can't win you just quit and don't compete anymore, many americans feel like that, from what i see here and you just proved yourself.......but tim is not like that, he is a racer and will always race, just like he did in mxgp start of the season, where he was hurt and had to give up on defending his title......he could just stopped and waited home for the new year, but instead e raced himself to form again and ended the year with wins.......
so i guess you should be the one quitting, quitting to disrespect a great racer, world champion and with the courage to came and compete in a race out of his comfort zone......my advice goes to you and all others here that suffer from the stars and stripes virus.......enjoy the racing, forget where they were born !!!!! or go back to those js7 topics, they suit you much better.......

I didn't pull any punches at Tim, he's a world champion but has no sx experience. It reasonable to say he won't get race wins. I never once mentioned he would quit. I hope he does well and I hope it lights a fire under him to decide to come here full time it would be great to see him and others come.

If you are referring to the stand in the pit and sit/stand in the bike during the race I was making a joke about how the title of the thread was written. Meaning "where will tim gajser stand" I took the route of saying physical location instead of finishing position.

Reading your replies to others in this thread and other threads you are clearly butt hurt about something to do with Americans and can't comprehend English sentences and sarcasm. I guess being on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean can really put a person out of touch.

And yes, deeply infected with the Stars and Stripes virus.

Here's something that will really fire you up, Portugal finished 16th this year at the MXDN. 7 places behind the good ole U.S.A who had 2 DNFs. Now you have a reason to be butt hurt. Courtesy of the U.S.A
ONE DNF- the other one was a dropped race.

As it happens, Portugal DNF'd the 3rd moto too..

Stay butthurt.

I bet Gasjer stands in a ton of spots during the whole monster energu cup. He'll definitley stand in the HRC rig (he'll most likely sit in there as well). He'll stand in the pits, in the stadium, on the track during the track walk, in the whoops during the race. All in all I predict Tim Gasjer to do a lot of standing this weekend.

He could be top 5, but do people really think he "could be battling with Musquin and Tomac"? You do realize Gasjer can't hang with Eli on A MOTOCROSS TRACK. What makes you think he'll be able to hang with Tomac on a SuperCross track??

I'll second that. Tim will be faster than that. I wouldn't doubt that he's on the same second , or even real close to Marv and Eli in lap times. As far as that goes , there may be a few guys in that group , along with some surprises.

Things that could hinder him a bit....
1.) 1st ( sort of ) SX race.
2.) Nerves.
3.) Mistakes from nerves and possible bike setup.

But most important , I bet he has fun no matter what. I say " Go Tim!! ".....as I'd like to see him do well.

Look....I'm a huge Eli fan , but to say Tim couldn't hang with Eli on an MX track is kind of crazy. When Tim is "on"....he can be the fastest guy on the track. Watch last years GP's when he was healthy. This year he was battling injuries but got stronger later in the season. He was strong at the beginning too , but had a mid season slump.

First, I hope he does well, and ESPECIALLY does not get hurt.

How are some of you able to hold a crack pipe, light a crack pipe and type at the same time when you post about him on the podium or close to Eli and Musquin speed?

48 hours until someone is eating humble pie.

this isn't Brandon's first race, we're talking about a multiple world champion who is still very much in race shape, put me down for a top 5 no worries

It should be cooled down enough to eat in 18 hours. A few of us will be eating a slice. We shall see.

EDIT: MEANING... a few of us in this thread will be eating a slice

What were you guys saying about Gajser not being comfortable on a proper 'SX like' track?

I have no idea where, or if, he’ll finish, but one thing is for sure and that’s that he’s probably one of the best scrubbers in the world, if not the best (probably only Roczen and Herlings that could give him a match in that department). Jumps doesn’t scare him and since there’s no whoops and that he’s usually awesome on hard packed, well there you go.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he wins the whole shebang!

Apart from a win, almost no result would surprise me with him. He's literally a lit fuse.

Love this dudes style, when he's on I don't think anyone including Herlings can beat him.

1. It's not supercross
2.He's good in hard pack
3.He's motivated
4.Factory Honda

So i think he's in the battle with all the big dog's.

Laughing Dont get carried away there. Only rider that can beat herlings straight up is cairoli, the rest are eating his dust at this point.

Hopefully that pie is glutein free? I might need some as Musquin is looking extremely fast and relaxed. He was also trying some different cominations over the rhythm lane. Tomac wasn’t too impressive but he’ll step up his game today. Gajser was getting more confortable after each session. I talked with him after practice and he said that toughest part for him is how steep and tight are jumps in rhythm lane, so you really need to nail those jumps perfectly. Gajser is on his GP bike with supercross suspension. Bogle looked good! Here are a few videos from yesterday: https://youtu.be/werIfM2OuZ0

Is that the Cairoli that was getting beat by Gajser regularly at the start of the season? Gajser is an incredible rider, definitely on the same level as Herlings and Cairoli
