Bagget on Pulp

Calling Eli out might work. It might backfire spectacularly. I am not sure it was good timing, though....with a two week break, right after a period where Eli clearly was not himself on the bike. And we know what that means....it means the bike is not working the way Eli wants. Want to be after two weeks....things will be quite a bit different?

Yeah but Blake got to go back to Florida and get his program going too which has to be a huge positive

My point is the same. While Bogle doesn't have the championship pedigree of BB4, a second moto win would have got a lot of attention good and bad because it's the most recent event win.
It seems Bogles first Moto win was discounted immediately because of his second Moto average finish. Anyways props to him there aren't many 450 Moto winners in the last two years racing today.
BB4 is being called both a one shot wonder for the overall win and the presumptive champ for 2017. I think BB4 is back, I'm just surprised by the expectation that it's a fluke.
I'm kind of with you, in terms of race wins Baggett and Bogle have about the same to brag about IMO. Obviously BB won the overall which is better but still physical race wins they are tied.

Although I'm on the other side about the future, I'm shocked at how many people seem to think he'll always be able to replicate that and just bring it to ET and Marv all summer. I like to think he can but we have to remember about 3 or 4 years have gone by where he wasn't really relevant at all and there has to be a reason behind that and I don't want to hear injuries because most of the guys he raced on 250s who have moved up have dealt with their own share of injuries and managed to have success still.

Obviously it was substantial. He was killing Roczen, Tomac, Barcia, and Musquin and then suddenly he couldn't even beat Jeremy Martin and Cooper Webb.

Nice shot at JMart and Cooper who have both had more success than Baggett in their careers..

I'm honestly not trying to talk shit, I'm a Baggett fan but you have to be realistic. 2012 he was great don't get me wrong but "killing" them is a little bit of an over statement don't you think? He had 9 moto wins to Tomacs 8 and the next was Barcia with 5. Granted he did win 6 of the 12 overalls I still don't think "killing" them is accurate.

I agree with this. I understand the excitement behind Baggetts awesome race and I, probably as much as anyone, hope that Baggett can continue his great race and contend for the title because I'm a huge fan of his. I just need a little more than 1 race to go all in and consider him a threat to Tomac and Musquin. It was 2 short weeks ago that he didn't look any better than Anderson. No one magically gains the kind of speed it takes to go from fighting for 3rd to 10th to running with Eli and Musquin.

Like I said, I hope I'm wrong on that and Baggett tears it up all summer and fights for the title. Watching him in his 250 days was unbelievable.

So is this where you tell us about all the times Bagget has beat Roczen and Dungey for 450 wins? You know for competitions sake.
FYI I like BB4 but i think your statement is pretty dim.

Isn't this only baggets 3rd year in 450? First year he said he wanted to learn and get through in one piece. Which he did. Last year he turned it up and looked great but dealt with injuries.

This year if he can turn it up and avoid the ground, should be interesting to see where he comes out.

I think the two weeks off is going to be a bigger benefit to Tomac who was kinda busy at the end of SX season. But I do hope Bagget keeps it interesting.

Not to turn this into a JMart thread but in 2014 he did beat Baggett and Pourcel, who in your own words, is the best rider other than JS7. According to you the competition doesn't get much stiffer than that.

Neither of those guys were at their best in 2014

And wasn't that my original point? Baggett's injury severely hindered him and it looks like he's finally overcoming it. He had a strong year and seems to really be in a good place with his team and bike. He's got an amazing training facility

Either way we will see how this all transpires at High Point, I guess it is a little unfair to judge before he ever gets a chance to back up his words.

I largely agree but a few things: Bogle killed it, but from the front. Baggett hunted down and passed some bad dudes. ii) I think it is his 3rd year, so it's not 3 or 4 years of irrelevance.

Agree with you that's it's only one ride, but it really looks like he found something. He was unreal on the 250, too, so it wouldn't be a crazy surprise. He was very good indoors this year as well.

I know one thing for sure. When all these guys are healthy and hungry it makes for great racing. No matter who tops the box...we win.

Awesome ride by Blake at Lakewood but the cocky attitude was unneeded. He's won one overall, chill out. Tomac won eight races in a row this year and was fairly humble about it.

IMO, starts as much as the injuries hurt Baggett going into 450's. Looked better in SX this yr. than any. Last 3 motos vast improvement. Hope his starts n races are great rest of the season. Never heard him tech talk all the bike changes being made before after the last race ever. Refreshing.

He never really looked good on the Suzuki tho... too much bike or whatever it was, he is riding the KTM now like he used to ride the 250s, just sheer aggression.
