Seen it mentioned a few times that Barcia could end up on the factory KTM, but I have to say at the minute, I don't see how they could be interested. He hasn't really shown anything for almost 2 seasons now that would make you think that KTM would want to put him on a factory bike. It will be interesting to see where he ends up, it seems like he's definitely out at JGR.
I dunno, I don't see it happen either but if it does than I guess KTM sees potential in him and gets someone to coach his riding style to better adapt to a 450. He was BTW 3rd in points in 2015 and 4th in 2016, so it's not like he showed nothing.

With that logic, that brings up the question; why on earth did they sign Trey? I hate to say it but he's injured all the time and proved that once again this season. I'd say they have a better shot with Justin than they had/have with Trey.

I'm one of those who's always giving the blue pig a hard time. I love the yzf 250's, but feel the 450f is definitely a pig. Maybe not for the average rider, but definitely at the Barcia/Webb level. Hopefully the new bike is improved.

I'll have to eat crow if Barcia doesn't keep improving on the new yellow bike. It's a new bike for the team and it's a long season so we'll see if he continues to improve or continues to drop anchor.
The JGR guys are all finishing roughly in the same positions they were last year on the Yamaha so far.

It aint the damn bike.

They signed Trey , because he is good people with a clean cut image and that fitted nicely alongside Dungey, and Marvin.

I wouldnt have signed Trey to replace Wilson, personally, but i get why they did, maybe Roger thought the KTM would help him stay off the ground.

Career trajectory is everything... it needs to be going the right way .

When are people going to stop making excuses about the bike for Barcia's lack of performance....

Has any of JGR riders really succeed? there has been flashes, but really not one has been a threat. Could it be JGR trying too much with their Nascar program goodies, and trying one off stuff on the bikes and goes the wrong way.
No. It is not that. They simply have not hooked up with the right rider yet. Unfortunately if these rumors are correct and they are going to do a deal with Reed, they will still not have the right rider anytime soon.

Have often wondered if having the ability to build anything in house to support your race bikes is a detriment. If you really go back over the teams entire list of riders and results. Who really stood out and said man my bike handles and does anything I want it to. No doubt they could make hp. But handling is paramount. Be interesting to see Barcia in Europe though. If they got him on a bike that likes and rides flat out on the rough GP tracks. Could be a great matchup.

Anyone else feels it's actually pretty sad? Honestly, when I saw Barcia racing 450 for the first time I was quite sure that it's just a matter of a year or two until he takes the outdoor 450 championship home. What the hell happened since that time?! This kid had wins in his rookie 450 season!

You guys do know he got 4th in 2016 outdoors? Right? So, you have to be top 3 to be even considered for a factory ride? Last 2 rides of the season he got 2nd place. C'mon what does he have to do to get a factory ride by the standards set here? I think 4th is quite a large statement and proves he is a top guy. Ya'll are only looking at supercross? He rips it outdoors.

What happened?...well he left Honda as apparently that was holding him back to realize his full potential, had a couple of good races on the Yamaha (and lots of bad ones) but still didn't show full potential, then JGR switched to Suzuki and everyone said ah that Yamaha was the reason why he hasn't realized his full potential, now people are saying ah KTM is the answer!!!.....wait...anyone see a common denominator? ...yes it is NOT the bike...there was nothing wrong with the Honda, Yamaha or Suzuki.

He is so talented, but just won't adjust his riding style. It's fucking mental. He literally smoked a bunch of the top guys at different times, but can't pull his head out. It was the Honda, the Yamaha and now it's the Suzuki. Don't get me wrong, the Honda – lots of guys were having suspension issues and he never got the option to swap, and clearly the Yamaha is a different duck, but now?

The one thing is, he's actually been injured a lot, like a helluva lot, but I don't think that changes till he smooths out.
It wasn't the Honda. He killed it on the Honda. He was battling for podiums and wins

Knowing he has straight up beat all the dudes who are regularly beating him, would you say he's living up to his potential?

He quite literally has the talent, he's fit, he just keeps riding the same way.

It's almost as puzzling as pros who don't get super fit. It's a choice. It's easily fixed. It's not like he's never had the pace.

Was he beating Eli and Roczen regularly? You might be able to argue for Musquin but not those 2. At least not from 2014 or so until now.

We weren't referring to the bikes as the problem. We just wonder what happened to him in general. He showed HUGE potential on the 450 at first....

It's karma.

He cheated on his previous girlfriend and now he's cursed. It makes me happy to see karma working.

He may do ok in the Canada motocross!!

If Canard can get a contract after all his dirt naps, I can see someone giving Barcia a contract to at least make some laps on a bike. Albeit banged up usually but he has a better shot at making it to the gate.

Yes, he did. Eli debuted in 2010, Kenny in 11. Barcia won a lot back then. He's easily as talented. It's upstairs.

Probably take those millions he signed for and retire if his money is invested right.

Always been a fan of Bam Bam in spite of some of his "moments". I know he has basically been behind the 8 ball to start the season 3 years in a row due to injury and I can imagine it is not easy to come into SX mid way and catch up to the crowd. I do agree with some of the comments here that it seems like his technique has shown little progression with maybe the exception being the second half of the 2015 outdoors where he really appeared to smooth it out some. I hope he manages to put together some good rides this summer and secures another good ride. He still has the potential imho.
6/8/2017 9:27am
I apologize in advance of this has already been discussed, but could it be that Barcia is still recovering from his previous injuries?

ok fair enough...I think nothing happened...his 250 riding style does not suit the 450's, it hasnt changed. Change the upstairs thinking and technique and he would be faster imho.

That is true but he looked much better in the past on the honda (and 1 half of 1 outdoor season on the yam). I don't know if he still wants it as bad but he has shown some speed on the 450. It could be great if he could avoid to do some crappy moves, focus on technique, avoid injuries to get his fitness & confidence back so it would be fun to see him back to the speed he has shown during battles with RV, RD, TC, JS7 and CR. One thing that surprised me this year, he is also a kind of cryptonit with Tomac, several times Tomac was getting close Tomac didn't seem to ride as usual. In other words I am all in for ww3 from a1, the more warriors the better Evil Laughing Woohoo
