Hey Joe...just wanted to say thanks on the tip on the power valve adjustment. My buddy Wardy and Matt both clued me in on the same thing. I found that mine stock was turned out quite a ways. We went in 1.5 turns and it was quite a bit better on the bottom end. I then went one more 1/2 turn and think that's the sweet spot for now. I'll get a few more rides on this stock exhaust then slap on the Scalvini and FMF powercore , re-jet accordingly. Suspension will go to FC here soon , just need the time to drive it on up there.
Awesome, I'm at about the same, I think 1.75 with FMF pipe and shorty. Drop me an email. I'll be up in Portland Mid June-July. Let's...

Remind me Joe!! I'm down for some roosting for sure.

I am re-thinking my silencer choice. Was thinking the Ti powercore 2 , but thinking maybe I'll try a shorty. I know the Scalvini will help with bottom end power....so not sure if I should stick with the powercore or maybe a PC 304.

Decisions , decisions.....

I've ridden the FMF Powercore(old version), stock KtM and shorty silencer back to back. The shorty was hands down more bottom but I think with my power valve setting and silencer I am loosing a bit of that high speed wound out top end. But that's not needed as much for the tracks I ride.

I love seeing the resurgence of the 125's as I picked up an 02 Cr125 last year and have been having a blast on it... I am 36 now, but still feel like I am 16 riding this thing. Video from last year...

I'm also joining this category. Slowly rebuilding a 2004 YZ125 to have some fun on when time permits. Dadlife has taken over.

Still rockin the Vital Revival YZ125. Although now its a 144...I cheated. Planning to hit Etown this weekend! You still getting out there Danny? Haven't ridden since November so I'm anticipating one lap of glory.

A few Lukaitis snapped of me last July at etown on the trusty steed

I raced a 125 in the Vet classes for several years and did just fine. Even won a few series. You just have to know your strengths (downhills, braking zones and corner entry speed,) and minimize your weaknesses (uphills, start straights, exiting corners.)
I used to start way wide and sweep the first turn around the outside to get as many positions as I could, then make passes in the slower sections. Take the line, block the good lines as much as you can, haul ass downhill. Plus, nothing beats a 125 for harassing a guy in front of you - rev it and stick a wheel in everywhere!

I would like to offer an open invitation to all you 125 aficionados who may be close to or visiting AZ this summer to come ride my private track.
Pretty dry at the moment but monsoons are just around the corner.
I'm 4600 ft up in the Aquarius Mts near Kingman so temps are nice in the summer and with some rain it's just doesn't get any better.

Would love to ride with a bunch of screaming 125's as i'm the only one around here on one.
I will try to post some info on ride dates as far in advance as possible once we get into monsoons.

125's making moto fun again!!!

Please post a video of yourself (go pro, hand held, whatever) riding this track on a 125 and if your 125 ride day comes to fruition please post a video of that too!

Only if you have black backgrounds and white numbers. So, no.

I would jump on the 125 band wagon but, I sucked at riding 125's when I was younger and preferred the 250's... I am intrigued to try one again though!

Anybody know of a clean 2006 KX125 that I can build to go with my 06 KX250????

Dude that track is awesome! I stay on a four stroke because of my ego. I feel more confident jumping/learning unfamiliar tracks on a four stroke. People tell me jumping on a 125 is way more predictable than on a 250T though. I had a 250T for a few months a few years back and I almost bit it a few times jumping stuff so I got rid of it and got back on a tractor. What I'm finding as I get older (I'm 33 by the way) is that I'm not as fearless as I used to be and even on a 450 my race results aren't that good. I have a few lbs to lose but it would be awesome to get a 150SX.

I toy with the idea of building an epic sand track to rail on a two stroke to finish out my riding days. I guess we all get lost in trying to find that youthful experience that got us hooked on the sport.

Hey Bayo! Been a little bit man. I'm only on a mountain bike right now. Sold my 450 a while ago, and now it's rebuild a 2004 YZ 125 time. We will have to get out and moto the YZ's soon as I'm done.

Thanks... lots of work to build it and even more to maintain but wow is it fun.
Jumping i don't have much trouble with (even at soon to be 60) but this one 65 ft deep gap is just in my head plus it's a bit technical as you have to clear the 40 ft double out of the corner and negotiate a little dogleg going into the face of the 65 Ft.
i am jumping two others that are longer 75 ft table and 90 ft sky jump (I go 90 faster younger guys push it out to 110 130 ft ) but this 65 ft so far has the best of me.

For years i thought about buying some land and building a track and am now in retirement fortunate to be living that dream.
so keep that idea of building a sand track alive and you may find yourself riding it someday.

Yes, there is an affinity for 125's shared by the older generation. It's what we learned on and fell in love with.

Such a great thread! I'm 44 years old and just picked up a 2003 YZ125. Haven't ridden a 125 since '99 and I'm having a blast!

So stoked to see this thread coming alive!!

I've got about 2.9 hours on my Husky 125 now....which is 2.9 hours of 125 experince in the past 30 years haha. And I can't wait to go ride that son of a bitch again this weekend!!

I know I've only hit the tip of the ice berg here. As I still need to get my suspension done and also figure out what silencer to pair up with that Scalvini pipe I got.

The " being new to 125's " thing is awesome in itself....but Gawd dang it....I simply love the feel of this Husky! It amazes me how this little sucker can pull me around a track when I hit my lines right. I didn't think I'd ever ride another bike that rivaled my 06' RM 250 in the fun dept.....until now!! Dang I love this little bike!

Hell yeah! I hated a 125, the 250 really is a perfect bike for me being a bigger guy. But damn yall got me wanting to build one and rip it!
