Sure he can. Will he? No. Too many variables.

Very unlikely, that kind of consistency is very hard to achieve.

Unlikely but not impossible, but I'll concede that it's a legitimate talking point. As others have said, it only takes one slip-up in a corner to fall out of the lead, even if you're clearly the fastest.

But compare this to MXGP. There is no way in hell we'd have this discussion. There's too much competition, and some of the circuits are just brutal. But it's doable on the AMA circuit; a healthy Roczen could do it.
Probable but unlikely, however chances are positive it won't happen....but it could.

Choking in NJ counted for more than winning 9 races when the points were added up.

That's because GPs they don't have one dominant rider. Yeah AC has a million titles but there's no rider that's miles ahead of everyone. Tomac is miles ahead of everyone right now with raw speed

Eli hasn't shown us nearly enough consistency to make me believe he can do it. Dungey (if he lines up) will at least win a few motos imho. I also foresee a couple other guys like Musquin, Bagget, Webb and even Barcia winning a moto or two. If Eli wins this title it should pave the way for him to go on a roll for a couple years but again he hasn't been able to put complete seasons together so we shall see.

1. Who is in this sport? 2. Some guy named Jimmy Stewart went 24-0 and he wasnt exactly a model of consistency either

won't happen, Tomac (for whatever reason) has a knack for throwing it away. i think he's the strongest guy for the championship (he's lucky Roczen is injured), but 24-0 won't happen.

Sure he can. If 2015 Tomac shows up but don't leave out Jason Anderson. I believe he can twist the throttle outdoors.

He could go...
6-0...and then organize a trackside yard sale,
or go 10-0...and then put together a trackside yard sale,
or go 15-0...and then coordinate a trackside yard sale,
or he could just go 24-0....
Three of those scenarios are much more realistic than one of them imo.

He hasnt even won a championship yet and were asking if hell go 24-0. MAYBE one day, but definitely not this year and who knows who will step up by then. Marvin is getting faster each race, Anderson still has potential, Webb is a huge variable who next year and the year after will be on season 2-3 which is where people really start coming into the swing of things if they are in fact going to be the next guy.

I say 24-0 is still possible with an asterisk.

Why does everyone always say it is bad luck when this stuff happens to Eli? He got another shit start and put himself in the position for bad things to happen. He does this A LOT! Should make for a more interesting championship now, though.

Very sad that there are people on here waiting and hoping for bad things to happen to certain racers just so they can say "I told you so"

The Red plate is too heavy for him. He can't deal with the pressure of it all. Physically gifted, mentally flawed, he is at his best coming from behind or being the underdog. He needs a rabbit to chase and when he becomes the rabbit things go wrong for him. It's really a shame, he is really fast, just not consistent enough yet.

He should pay Dungey about $5 mil to have him teach him how to be mentally bulletproof. Dungey was so consistent because he always had a gameplan and he worked his plan. You would hear him talk about it after the races, people with that kind of mental dedication are very tough to beat.
