Can Herlings still win the championship ?

The thing is, there are so many guys that can and win be in the mix,

3 Husky guys, Desalle, Bobby, JvH and Febvre, Simpson and Tonus (injuries permitting) and also Jasikonis, who is getting there in the sand for deffo , and will only get better. And Coldenhoff.

So on any given day , Herlings might take a win, Cairoli and Gajser cant both finish second every week.. its not likely , or even realistic, but if Herlings catches fire and delivers what we all hoped he could, who is to say its impossible.

I think everyone got closer to the points lead by a lot because of Gajsers horrible day 14-DNF for 7 total points.

Let's see where the points gap is 3 race from now to see if Herling's form stays on point. He's more than capable of stinging together great races, but he will need help with some inconsistent finishes by Cairoli and Gajser.

the guy won championships with broken bones and multiple rounds sitting on the couch. so if someone can do it, it will be herlings.

Would be epic, but no. Top 6 points are within spitting distance of each other plus frisky and riding well, Gajser is not escaping all the mistakes like he was last year plus 4 other riders being capable of taking GPs on any day. Top 5 would be a plus considering the whole situation this season

Herlings doesn't have much history of being able to start poorly (or crash), then cut through the field the way Cairoli and Gajser sometimes do (or Webb did at Charlotte). Herlings seems to run from the front or not run at all. The field is deep; you're not always gonna be in the top three at the end of the first lap.

Then there's the spectre of the next crash/injury, which is only a matter of time.

I would say let's wait and see what Germany brings. If he goes 1-1 there then he will be back in serious contention for the title.

Yes... of course! He picked up 26 points in one race. If he can do this every race then it will only take 5 races to be leading the championship. BUT... it's racing and as many have said "anything can happen"!

Herlings continued to win last weekend at Emmen against a skeleton MXGP gate, Antonio seems cool and in control of his own destiny so far this season.

Will be interesting to see this weekend how Herlings will do on a different type of track. Cairoli has some control over this championship right now though, we will have to see how Gajser is feeling and if he'll be 100% this weekend.

The last 2 seasons he was on the edge and saved the potential get offs, the odds seem to have caught up with him so far this year
