So AWESOME. As a kid racing in the late 80's-early 90's I remember allot of these bikes. Its also awesome that you included the Honda Fat Cat and Cub. Very cool pics.

Pretty cool ad! Check the tires out, this was pre photoshop!!! I mean how did they put the bike there without getting dust/sand on the tires? With a crane, or did they bring some compressed air down as well? Despite the effort, the bike is not appealing at all for me.

Still this whole thread is scary, makes me like four strokes a bit more. Love how they come out as the underdog...

Bump from a fellow ex-thumpernats racer. Would love to see some of these old shots. My photos are all back in oz, but I will try to post some of me racing a TTR back in 1999 and a WR400 in 2000. GLORY DAYS!

i owned a 95 i think Husaberg FC 501 (handled terrible) and almost bought an xr400/cr250 hybrid that was built for Mike Healy for the world four stroke moto races they used to have...

Hey Slipdog, this picture got me thinking....are you (or do you know), DB333 from Bethel Island? I remember he was a Norcal pro that...if memory serves....got some Husaberg support back in the 90s to race the west coast 4-stroke nationals. I don't want to use the full name in case it is you and you prefer to remain anonymous.

I'm also curious how the 'Berg fared in terms of reliability. I recently picked up an 01' 650 basket case. I'm rebuilding it for shits and grins. Interesting engine design, for sure.

No, I'm not Dustin. He actually has an account here as DB333, but I don't ever see him post. I grew up racing with him from all the way back in the '80's.

I had no issues with the Berg in the 3 months or so I had it, but I actually dislocated my shoulder at that Glenn Helen race and that was the last time I rode it. My issue was suspension set up. My regular guy had it too soft and wallowy and Mark from Z Racing got specs from Tom Moen at KTM and then it was harsh and deflective. I ended up out before we ever got it right.
