Remember when dudes were tying to turn these turds into MX bikes in the 90's. My buddy had one and it was a gutless POS
Still this whole thread is scary, makes me like four strokes a bit more. Love how they come out as the underdog...
11 inches of travel front and rear, 234 pounds. My how far we've come....

Im interested in the Factory DR-Z440 that Daryl Hurley and Paul Broomfield raced, and the modded KLX 250's
What about the XR650/400's that we're modded and raced(?)
Any of the 'factory' thumper nats bikes from any time in that series were awesome!!
I almost forgot about the CDR Yamaha TTR 250's, they were nuts modified
I'm also curious how the 'Berg fared in terms of reliability. I recently picked up an 01' 650 basket case. I'm rebuilding it for shits and grins. Interesting engine design, for sure.
I had no issues with the Berg in the 3 months or so I had it, but I actually dislocated my shoulder at that Glenn Helen race and that was the last time I rode it. My issue was suspension set up. My regular guy had it too soft and wallowy and Mark from Z Racing got specs from Tom Moen at KTM and then it was harsh and deflective. I ended up out before we ever got it right.
