Eli's team manager gave him a hug after the race and said "this is called the Heimlich maneuver".

I don't know, being able to claim yourself a championship winning motorcycle manufacturer is pretty good PR.

And back with the red plate. What will have to be the finishing order next week for Tomac to win the big one ?

If Tomac wins Dungey would have to get >= 5th, if he gets 2nd Dungey would have to finish >= 8th, 3rd would be >= 10th, 4th >= 12th, 5th >= 14th, and 6th or worse he needs Dungey to be 9 spots behind him.

I don't know how the racers talk 6 seconds after that. I'da been yelling and crying at the same time. Have some fine people running up front.

Yeah, I don't think Tomac wanted to talk at all. Right after the race, he answered a question briefly, then split.
I hope your Meniere's attack clears up quickly. It sounds like no fun at all.

If Tomac wins Dungey has to get 4th or better. If he gets 5th, they'll be tied in points and Tomac will get the championship because he has more wins.

If Musquin didn't "make a mistake", Dungey would've needed 3rd or better.

I am a gigantic Tomac fan, I'm absolutely heartbroken for him. He has raced his ass off, done things nobody thought were possible. He started the season not the best, then kicked it in gear, had a mechanical mishap but has been very consistent, some would say dominant since week 4 (minus the brake thing in Arlington) consistent just like Dungey, but also consistently better. Taking a 29 point deficit and turning it into a 3 point lead. I am so insanely proud of him,and what he has done, and he should be to.

Tonight I could tell right away he wasnt riding like he has been recently. Did having the points lead get to him mentally? Yea probably. He's been fighting behind for so long, now with the lead he wants more than ever to prove that he is the better racer, that he's not just flying high until he crashes big. He wasn't riding as aggressively as he had been, he didn't look comfortable, he wasn't going as fast as normal, he wasnt cornering the same. He just didn't look like Eli. He let it get to his head and that sucks. I just hope he can bounce back and come out swinging next week. I'll be cheering for him no matter what.

As far as team orders, yea Marv let Dunge by, yea it pissed me off, no it didn't surprise me. If Dungey wins by less than 3 points I'll be even more upset. Its supposed to be about who is the better rider, not who has the most/better friends. Yea Eli messed this one up by himself, but there is still another race.

GO ELI!

As a fan of supercross, I am bummed that KTM have stolen, what could have been the most spectacular Las Vegas final showdown in recent history, from me.

Grant would have let Eli by if Eli wasn't too busy having the worst race of his career. So yes.

Yea Eli had a shit race. Yes he lost the points lead by himself. Eli followed Grant for almost 3 laps before going down again, Grant could have very easily pulled over like Marvin did and let Eli by. But he actually kept racing. I've seen Eli pass Grant with ease numerous times, so I really don't think that would have been a "letting him by" situation. Eli was way off last night. It sucks and I'm gutted for him, but its not over. Marvin pulling over just made it that much more difficult for Eli to win in Vegas. Its the difference between Ryan having to get 5th which he hasnt done in 3 years, and Ryan having to get 4th which he's done I think 4 times this year.

He followed him because he was riding so poorly he didn't even give Grant a chance to check up and let Eli go by. You could actually see that Grant was waiting for Eli so he could check up. Eli was too busy laying an egg. I mean Grant can't just stop on the track. Grant was just cruising around. He was waiting for Eli. It was obvious from the TV.

Hey, when you have 6 of the top ten bikes coming out of your little factory, you go for that championship!
And, if your Team Manager doesn't want to, fire his ass, even if he is The Man.

I think the pit board signal message is too obvious, but wonderful folklore. Especially if you spell your rider's first name wrong. Or maybe spelling it wrong was code. Even The Hurricane knew who paid the bills.

Hate to steal from a stick and ball sport, but a bunt signal would work. It might be obvious, but it's kind of obscure. Kind of a wtf move.

I was getting frustrated at KTM not using tactics earlier. What a race, I was watching it on the deck and well, there was a nut on it.

Those 6 bikes will have to form a perimeter around Dunge in Vegas. Eli will come out blazing with nothing to lose, a very dangerous creature.

Last night,

"Ry-annn, dis is le best steak I've ever eaten. C'est magnifique ... (chew, chew, chew)."
"here Marv, have another.....just bring him the cow please Miss".

Still a race to go, but that was one for the ages. Gotta watch that nice soft east coast dirt. Team Orange!

Yes, Grant was waiting.

Dungey followed Marvin way more than Eli did Grant. At the end Dungey was in place where Marvin could help him.

Exactly. You could even see Grant take a few glances just waiting for Eli to come up so he could let him by. Problem is Eli never did that. Can't blame Grant for anything. He was willing and waiting to let Eli by.

So yo guys think i'm over reacting? I don't really give a damn!
My honest opinion which you guys probably don't give a damn about both either way here it is.
This sport is and always has been a sport where every rider races for himself, there has been no team tactics involved for the majority except to let Brock by.
I have always showed respect for Dungey and how he rides and carries himself and i completely agree that Tomac effed this race up on his own. However this title is not thanks to Dungey's outright skills or performance he's been handed 6 points due to team tactics.
That picture perfect humble dude we once knew, is turned into a winey little bitch that cant stand up for himself nor can he fight his own battles. Don't get me wrong here I have a tremendous respect for the things he has done in the sport and his ability to be so efficient on a bike but this is a bridge to far for my personal liking. Why? Because i want to see honest clean and fair fights.
'll conclude with this.
I've never been a huge fan of putting an asterisk besides any Title but if he wins this one next week there should definitely be one.

There's a saying (and it's not mine and i know we've all heard it many times before). You win your championships on your bad days. Do a compare and contrast this season of Dungeys bad days versus Eli's. Enough said IMO.
