Childish for sure. It also highlighted what chads issue is. In the heat he was up front for a few laps then dungey finally got buy, then marvin. Chad threw ancor. like 10seconds. In the main, same thing, he was lapped, cranked up to close to race pace for 3 laps then dungey finally gets buy, then marvin and then out comes the ancor.

The guy is out of shape. he has the speed, just not the conditioning.

Reed proving to be a great "mentor" for Cooper, lol.

Everybody saying that Reed is justified for acting the way he did because Ryan said he was immature during the heat... wouldn't you want to prove Ryan wrong? By going "hey, he called me immature, so I guess I'll play the part..." you're going from simply being accused of being immature to actually acting like a child. I don't get the reasoning by Reed here. If you want to hold a grudge and let it show on the track, ride like that when you're on the same lap, not when you're a complete nonfactor in 16th.

Wasn't a fan of Reed during the mid-late 2000's when he was known as a bit of a whiner, was starting to become a fan of his through his performances this year, but that's all out the window now. Childish behavior, surprisingly from the most seasoned vet currently on the circuit.
Anyone that thinks Reed signed up to be a "mentor" to Cooper is delusional....lol

And I'm sure Cooper would be okay with not having Reed as a "mentor" too.

Also, He was clearly hoping dungey would punt him so he could say 'look what he did.' Classy of dungey.

With that said dungey should change up his lines more.

This is a ridiculous statement. Matthes is the only one in the moto media who doesn't play that game. Why do you think Barca, Anderson, Dungey (now), and others block him or won't go on the show? Example, he straight up told Jimmy Albertson riding the 250 was a dumb move last year. Another, read his article of the problems with the 250 class. Every other media outlet and podcast doesn't challenge anything and kisses up to the "industry" guys.

Reed has always been a pussy, nothing new.

Didn't reed knock TC41 over after he got in his way.

Karma will be saving up for a unleashing on the 22 next race.

That first line about Reed being a mentor was meant to be a bit of a joke, the rest of my post was really the main point I was trying to make.

However, you can't deny Cooper looking up to Chad a bit. He did say this in the press release announcing the factory Yamaha team a ways back...

“I’m really excited to be joining the Yamaha Factory Racing team. It’s a dream come true for me, especially to be able to stay with the brand where I started my professional career. Also, it’s going to be great to team up with Chad. I met him a long time ago, and growing up, he was always my favorite rider. So, to be teammates with a legend is awesome. It’s going to help me tremendously to learn from him, and I can’t think of a better teammate to have as I move up to 450s full-time.”

But again, not really a relevant aspect to the situation, I was just joking around.

I won't be able to listen to the podcast, JT and my fellow Canadian's head are too far up Reed's butt to be subjective.
That's ok, true love is beautiful.

The paying fans got burnt last night though. There was the most potential for , as Ralph said, a mano on mano race than there has been in weeks. And a bruised ego took it away. It's not the action, it's the timing. That is the difference between a veteran and a rookie.

There was a chance the 450 racing would be as exciting as the 250. You could throw a face cloth over those dudes. Jordan, who knew!

It is the first beautiful sunny day in Canada since Sept., that's the place to put the energy today.

Long ass winters. Matthew went from Winnipeg I believe to Vegas! Now that is a difference, but after 4 decades in Winterpeg, it's gonna take a while to thaw out! The desert heat can twist the brain a little, snow and cold give clarity.
OMG the ☀️ feels good! Biking season is about 5 weeks away in the woods, then, braap.

Setting aside the main event antics, Im curious what people's thoughts are about RD's comments on Reed after the heat race. In your opinion did Reed do anything wrong in the heat, or did he race him hard?

This is what happens when riders who were once great hang on too long. Reed could have retired really before he started his own team. Would have saved a lot of money too. He just needs to let go. It's hard to do. But the results just aren't there anymore. His frustrated and this leads to making idiotic decisions like last night.

He did nothing wrong at all , he raced the guy and didnt lie down like everyone else who Dungey comes up behind does.

Heat win would have been good for Chad, he looked like he could do it, same as last week, he rode well, and Dungey put him on the floor in turn 1.. another week gone .

crossing over in the whoops was a bit greasy in my opinion, similar to the Craig/Savage incident last year, crossing over that hard in the whoops can be pretty dicey,

apart from that, i did not see any other big problems, good to see Reed back at speed in the heat,

Reed just lost a ton of fans he worked hard over the years to earn!!!
I am still a Reedy fan. It was an asshole move but Reed's great actions are far greater than the boneheaded moves.

Simple. Ryan has to get him out of the way. If Reed blockks him and gets punted off the track ,then he put himself in that position. It's a tough sport and Ryan has to fight for this championship if he wants it. Unfortunately being fast and skilled is not the only factor.

Dungey should not have to fight to pass a 16th place lapper for 3 laps on a one-lined track when the same lapper just moved out of the way (like he is supposed to) for the leader, especially when there was a

Shouldn't couldn't wouldn't Needed too. All kinds of things that shouldn't happen ,happen. It's not making that decision that will lose him the championship . After this incident, he better mentally make the decision ahead of time to get it done. Might be good that this happened early enough, to give him time to get a more aggressive attitude.

Nahhhh I don't think so. Will still get the biggest cheer. Will still have the biggest autograph line in the pits. Guy is a Hero of the sport.

aside from being a dick move, this is what pissed me off - Reed robbed us of the possibility of a great race that impacte the championship race, which is not that common this late into the season.

Thanks Reed

A lot of you guys are missing the bigger picture here. Dungey isnt the untouchable anymore. Riders arent giving him wide open lanes to pass anymore, they arent being "here comes the champ, let him by." Seely squared off with him, Marvins done it, Reed did it last night and I think what pisses everyone off more than anything is that Dungey isnt the protected champion anymore. Blood in the water, fair game.

Thanks Reed
As someone who traveled from my home state of AZ with our son and took members of my family to see the races last night and got to witness a very good race in the 250 mains, the 450 main was shaping up to be a fantastic race as well. I spent easily over $1000 on the trip to see the races as a fan. Dungey was pressuring Eli, and Eli was making slight mistakes from the pressure which allowed Dungey to close the gap. I don't know what was shown on TV yet as I have not been able to watch the races on TV, but you could see the slight mistakes being made from Eli when he and Dungey were racing close. It was shaping up to be a great race then Douche Douche took matters into his own hands and took all the air out of the room by playing road block. Total douche move.

While the race was going on and Tomac/Dungey were going at it, there were at least 6 kids on our immediate area that were jumping up and down, yelling, and screaming for their respective riders. We were all laughing at their passion. After the douche move had it's impact, they sat down, ate their cotton candy, and played with their toy motorcycles they got in the pits earlier in the day. As you said, thanks Reed.....assclown

Normally, you don't deal with lappers the same as you deal with guys you are battling for position with. That said, Dungey isn't stupid and he knew Reed was doing it on purpose. I give Dungey credit for saying "fuck it, I'm taking 2nd tonight" rather than losing it and possibly tangling with Reed.

Lets be real, if Dungey tangled with Reed, Tomac would walk away with this championship. Tomac already has the momentum going but Dungey isn't out of it yet. Had Dungey caved and acted like a rookie, as Reed did, he'd possibly put himself out of championship contention.
