The saddest thing would have been if he did stick to racing, my childhood would have been a lot less interesting and a lot less inspired.

its funny cuz its true.

TP was not a good racer. what made him win was his willingness to hang it out everytime he raced. which is why he crashed so much

If you compare to Dungey, who is cool collected and steady and well boring to watch.
while TP is the complete opposite who is flashy exciting and a loose wire.

TP is loved because he is a showman, which is why he fits better into the Nitro Circus than Team Suzuki

Agree. Obviously he has balls and tried stuff that others didn't but he grew up winning amateur titles and his lanky frame threw the 125 around a national track faster than anyone else in that era. I think its still on youtube, a few years ago Robbie had a 2 stroke shootout at Reynard Raceway. Robbie, Pastrana, Uncle Ronnie, and several other big names raced. Travis was blazing fast and looked like he raced on a regular basis in those motos. You wouldnt know he quit racing 10+ years before

TP was a beast on that 125
Ruts were mammoth and he railed them
Good time that day
Think Colt Nichols was in 2nd behind him
Kenny was doing a lot of sitting on the seat after lap 3!
