Keep dreaming. If anything Dungey's point lead will be bigger come Vegas.

No one is beating Tomac. Dudes on another level right now

If Tomac can start top 5 every race I see no reason why he can't win out, but that's the thing.. he's never been able to get starts consistently his entire career, and I don't see him being able to do it this year. Dungey knows how to win championships and that's what he does. Dungey very well could end up being champion with only 3 or 4 race wins.

Tomac will need a minimum of two DNF's from Dungey.

2 DNF's???? He's only down 24 points??

How do people get 2 DNF's? He's down 24 points with 8 races remaining. So if Eli wins each race it would be a tie.

They're factoring in reality I'm afraid. I wouldn't say two but I don't see Eli winning even if Dungey gets a DNF.

Nobody can predict if Tomac can win out or if Dungey has a problem and gives up big points, but we do know ET is looking the best ever on the green machine (stay!) and dare I say...looked better on it last night than Dungey did on his KTM. One thing that we can predict, however, is that those two will be going bar to bar at some point and that could play a big factor ( or Daytona).

Well the pressure's on Tomac, not Dungey. If he loses a race, then he's done basically. However, anything can happen.

All Eli has to do is finish each race at least one or 2 places ahead of RD.

At this point I think anything is possible. Eli has at this point won more races, but Ryan has never had any bad finishes point wise. If Eli keeps riding the way he is now, I say it's possible. I do think if he finishes behind Ryan in the next 8 races, it will look bleak in his chances. I refuse to give up on him

I can think of one that can beat Tomac currently in the line up (or injured, but even when healthy), even at his fastest.

At this juncture Eli is going to have to get every holeshot, and make absolutely no mistakes. None. Dungey has been down this road, and although he isn't as dominant as the last two years...he doesn't have many "bad nights".

He can try to ride a bit more dirty towards Ryan and start playing it mentally. But first of all he need to get those starts consistent and chip those points one by one away and if he's still in the game with four races to go he can try to screw a bit with RD mind. I say he can try it, don't know if it will work.

It would help if Marv, Seely, Anderson and those others could mix them up with the battle. Maybe that is also a tactic. Screw as much as you can with RD in front so those guys can come back and make it more complicated. You can lose a lot of time with blockpassing, defending and attacking each other.

Friese or Anderson parking him hard in a corner. If one of those two guys can do that, Tomac has a shot.

In order to make it interesting again, RD needs to have a bad night, right now it's pretty blah..

I figure Dungey will finish better than Tomac on average for the remaining races. One DNF would not be enough.

I think this weekend is Tomac's best opportunity to get a chunk of points if he can win. Baggett should be up front if things trend like they have been. He should be better at Daytona. If Eli wins and can get any of the top 6 guys in between him and Dungey then he will at least put some race win pressure on Dungey. I'd also like to think Marvin will come out swinging. It's not over by any means but it will take help from other riders for Eli to win. Winning out would be a surprise but if he can make a 5+ point change this week then he will have a better shot IMO. This weekend is where the championship begins or ends.

He needs to keep doing what he's doing and old Goldenrod needs to keep doing what he's doing to keep the title.

Championship is wide open bro's!

I think for one it will take Dungey to have a bad race but the biggest issue I see are guys pulling over for Dungey!! Wtf .It seems that whenever he is around another Rider they automatically set themselves up to ride behind him! Rubbing is racing right? I do not know how many times I've read that! Make him earn it stop pulling over and getting out the racing line to let him have it if he is that fast make him go around!

Do you think the KTM (and maybe Husky) boys will have marching orders to help Dungey.

Imo Dungey gets at least 1 more win
He is a beast
I think Dunge has got this on lock
He may settle for 2nds
Because he is a smart champion
But he has more in the tank if need be

The obvious answer is that Eli should start cleaning out Dungey any chance he gets.

Dungey will probably go something like 2-2-2-1-2-1-1-2

Tomac will go something like 1-1-1-8-1-6-9-1

I don't see Tomac having the consistency to come back from the points deficit, although he has the speed to win on any given day and will probably take more wins from now until the end of the season than Dungey.

It's not impossible for Tomac to win out with the way he's riding. Pressure might be on dungey to get 2nds and not a 4th or a 5th ever
