The Nationals aren't going away, and neither is supercross.
DC
The person who started this thread said he heard it from Ping. I don't see anyone mad about what he posted on here?
Just to clarify, I'm a huge fan of the Nats and I don't want them to go away -- at all. And there would be no reason for them to go away either. Just a schedule adjustment so SX(an FIM 'world championship') and MXGP(an FIM 'world championship') could run concurrently(and not consecutively) would at least leave the doors open for riders and teams from anywhere to run both championships.
That's all. Those that don't will still have the Nationals.

"In all seriousness, they are looking at a globalization of supercross and I’m afraid it will be at the peril of the national motocross series here in the U.S. Riders and teams can’t race 24 round of supercross all over the world and then jump right into 12 rounds of Nationals with no break on either end. Something will have to give..."
But you state something as outright false and ridiculous as ""Did you know that MX Sports now runs the Monster Jam contract for Feld?"
You have long been a critic of the nationals, and we've had our go-arounds, and while I honestly appreciate your opinions, I don't like your habit of repeating or offering up things as fact that just aren't true. As for why no one is talking about it much, maybe you should read what Guy B and others have been saying for awhile now and just let it all play out. I'm guessing it will all work out and we'll continue having SX races and then MX races, just like we have for decades now.
DC
Then you say we will continue to have SX races and MX races just like we have for decades now.
Really!! Just how do you suppose that will be when you just stated something will have to give?
I am assuming that SX will not be doing the giving but it will be a watered down version of the Nationals and not
"Just like we have had for decades now"
It will be substantially different in my opinion who will ride it you have just said the US riders won't be able to so who will fill out the gate.
It will all work out all right you can be sure of that just for whom.
I believe we should focus on making the races we have on the schedule now bigger and better, not adding more, indoors or outdoors. Every race from the Anaheim opener to the Ironman finale has room for improvement. But that's just my opinion.
DC
I can't seem to even grasp the idea on how they can add so many more rounds of SX , without it hurting the nationals in some way. And " IF " all the big teams bow out of the nationals.....where the hell is that going to leave us for something like MXoN's? The GP guys race 10 months of outdoors ( With certain countries holding their own GP pre-season races like Italy ). This is gonna sting us , in some way , shape or form. And after 35+ years of following and loving this sport , it looks like it could possibly turn into a full blown circus act. Rips my heart out on this.
I'm just stating it the way it is. They can save it but it would take a lot of cash!
As Ping said something will have to give and it won't be SX.
What motivation does Feld have to provide any support to the Nationals? Seems they benefit greatly if the Nationals diminish and being businessmen they will do what businessmen do capitalize.
Otherwise known as "real motocross."
If someone proposed ditching the PGA Tour and replacing it with pitch-and-putt courses in stadiums -- you know, so fans could sit in the grandstands and see the whole course at once -- I guarantee there'd be certain people who'd think that "SuperGolf" would be a great idea.
But D.C. You have to admit when Ping and others state these things (and he writes for you) that any normal person would draw conclusions.
D.C./GuyB "Let it play out".....let what play out? Exactly what's being stated? That sx is gonna be 22-24 rounds and there won't be any room for the outdoors?
If they cared about the youth racers and the history and legacy of the they wouldn't even suggest such horse shit..

When DC say let it play out I infer it to mean that nothing is decided upon at this momment. Im sure Feld and MXSports are talking to the factories (seperately) about the future so everyone involved can get the plans drawn up for future schedules contracts and rules. This is precisely the reason DC decided not to piss off the factories by having a 250 2 stroke rule. Would we rather see equal displacement racing or full factory nationals?
Just thinking how great it would be if the Nationals started with healthy ready to race riders instead of beat the fuck up injury riddled casualties of the SX series.
Cut SX down to 12 and expand outdoors to 16.......oh and equal displacement racing also. Your welcome.
Sx is the evolution of the sport as entertainment. And yes you can all us that line, it's that good.
