I record every race and watch it sunday morning before the wife is up. That way I can fast forward through the commercials and Marvin's extremely long-winded interviews.

I suspect you either forgot or not old enough to remember the days without the internet. We had to set our VCR's for 2am and pray that fucking horse jumping didn't run over. Or we would call 1-800-moto (or something like that) and listen to a per-recorded msg that was about 90 seconds long when the race was over with all the details of the race. Or heaven forbid, attack the US Mail truck on Wednesday when they delivered the weekly cycle news.

but your right. TV package sucks Smile
Damn right, I remember when we didn't even have internet. I'm so happy with my Compuserve dialup, 24 years and it never lets me down that much.

If you can't watch it live then you can watch it later. The TV package will get better once technology exists to stream sporting events over the internet. If you can think of a way you could probably make a million dollars.

Getting together with your moto buddies on Saturday night is something to do. It's cheap and safe. Won't get you in any trouble. The race being a couple hours later doesn't affect that except for your lame friends with kids and that's their own damn fault anyhow! Laughing
Sounds like a sausage fest..
Maybe in your world cool guy.

If only....

Although, there was a guy, overthebars39 that deserves thanks for his successful experiment in that realm last week.

Regardless of the year, until Feld has enough sack in their pants to demand live coverage for all events, this will continue. It's sad too if you stop and think about it..... Feld has no problems demanding stacks of cash from riders, teams, fans, etc... no problem telling riders "tough shit" when the subject of purses are brought up.... I'm going to guess they just have the mindset of "it's going to be aired eventually, so shut up and deal with it." But I'm guessing it once again all boils down to cash..... cause it's no secret Feld wants that more than anything else.
By sacking up and demanding better/live coverage, you do mean that Feld should pay more to have their supercross infomercial broadcast at more desirable times? Right?

If fox wants to do this delay and fs2 bs then they should have the feed live online for everyone like NBC does the outdoors.

I would rather it be delayed and be on FS1, than it be live on FS2. My cable service doesn't have FS2 in HD. It's so blurry you can't even make out the numbers on the bikes!

I didn't mind it at all this last weekend because the weather cooperated and I was able to get outdoors and enjoy sunshine. Just stay off social and vital until you watch the race. I really like knowing I can plan for sx to keep me entertained for the evening since I'm more than likely at home on Saturday nights anyways.

It [ is ] this simple -- let the Fox Go app stream it live. I don't care what VP says what about licensing or agreements, if this is prohibited, then someone isn't thinking through things. It should be on the app, no excuses, no reasons to the contrary, end of story. Period.

Apps are hard to build. That's why there aren't many apps in the entire world. And a streaming app is nearly impossible without spending a billion dollars. I saw one app several years ago as a streaming prototype. But it was too expensive. Unfortunately technology just hasn't gotten caught up yet with these fanciful ideas of live streaming an event on the computer. That's why it's so rare.

Yes but Fox Go and Livestream stream live sports 24/7, including the outdoor Motocross series. They have the content, so just seems like there's something prohibiting them from allowing it to be streamed, as opposed to a tech hurdle no?

I've watched Supercross races that were live on FS1 using the Fox Sports Go app on my phone. So there should be no problem for them to stream the live race on the Go app even though the tv coverage is on tape delay.

I dont see the problem of watching it at 10pm either. I think it is alot better to watch a race late night instead of during the day, it sets the mood right. Peronally I would like it to be streamed during the day, because that is 10pm here in Norway Tongue
Every time it is a late race (not a day time race) I go to bed around 10 pm, then wake up at 4am and watch the race until 7am.
What im saying is that you have basicly nothing to complain about, you can atleast watch it during the day even if its 5pm or 10pm.

By the way, the SupercrossLIVE livestream is not any better. Even though i live outside the US i would never buy that crap. I bought it for Monster Energy Cup, and i couldnt even watch it 10 seconds without it buffering and refreshing itself. Worst part of it all, it had no sound. The guy who streamed the race on twitch last weekend, he might have used that stream, so for him he is lucky that it is working good, because that shit is way overpriced.

The broadcast on Fox Sports Go is at the same time as the TV broadcast. I wasn't able to get a steady stream on twitch or the facebook broadcast, but lots of people were.

I laugh at the people saying everyone should be happy with a tape delay (especially when all of last year's races were live) because back in 1989 we used to set our VCR's to record at 2am. It's pretty much like saying you should be happy you can use the internet on your phone even if it freezes up all the damn time and you have to restart it because back in the 80s you used to have to have to call the whole neighborhood on the party line to get one of your buddies. Hi I'm "insert name here" and I hate progression.

used to have to wait for Sunday night and tune into a radio show with Warren Reid on AM radio for results. Forget the name of the show now

Not that big of a deal to me. Unlike most people, I can stay off of social media for a few hours. It's really not that hard to do.

I remember listening to an audio broadcast years ago (live) LOL
Right? We are so fucking spoiled now.

Thinking about those times as a child and listening to the races with live timing up, the nostalgia, i'd honestly would pay for that so fast.

I remember when I used to get race results in a newspaper and I had to walk to get that paper. Uphill both ways in the snow!

You see that big green logo on the floor of the octagon? No one rides anymore anyway. Who has 10 gs lying around to spend on a new 450?

I don't understand the tape delay. I have kept up with fox sports ratings since they switched from speed. Supercross is consistently one of the top rated things they broadcast. Some weeks it's the top rated show. Especially the first two months of the season before NASCAR starts.

If we combine your vision of this "app" thing with my ability to start a gofundme page, I bet we can get this thing up and running in no time.
