For me its a truck and toy hauler. The wife and little one always tag along for the weekend so it's nice to be able to get in the trailer and relax. Heat or AC as needed. Shower between motos. Nice bed. But all of my races are a 2 day event and over an hour minimum from home. Only negative is the cost that is usually associated with the setup.

I had a forest river XLR and it was complete garbage. Stuff falling apart from day one and it was bought new. If i ever did it again i would spend the extra money and either get a toter home or a VRV bumper pull. Both expensive but for a reason because they are not junk.

That's a cool device, but you'd have to be nuts not to throw some straps on for safety.

You mean like if a strap breaks or the lock lets go?

While very cool and sleek. I don't get why people jizz over the moto van set up. You still don't have a shitter or shower. So personally, I think the toy hauler is the best way to go.

Would love to have one like this. Had a funmover, extended van, trailers and now just a truck. This IMHO is the ultimate moto hauler.

Sprinters are cool, but really underpowered. Maybe the new ones are better?

My family went through many different mx haulers. Here is my opinion:

1. Attached ToyHauler RV - We had the smaller non-diesel version with the garage in the back and the thing was perfect for the weekend trips to races. The size and space was a huge plus. I would only rank the larger diesel "showhauler" version better.

2. Box Van - We bought a used box van and completely tricked out the garage with full custom cabinetry, flooring, lights, etc. It also had a sleeping area behind the driver and passenger seats. Not having a bathroom or kitchen was a down-fall. Last I had heard the official Honda Baja team bought it after we sold it to another local racing family.

3. Van - We never had a smaller moto van, but I had plenty of friends with them and this is where I would put it. Everything safely enclosed is really nice, and the size makes it easy to get wherever it needs to go.

4. Tow behind ToyHauler RV - It did it's duty well for over-night stays.

5. Truck with with trailer - Enclosed trailer does a good job of giving shelter from sun, wind, rain, etc.

6. Truck only - bare bones and lots of Tetris style packing to get everything to fit either in the bed or the cab. Perfect for heading out to a practice day or meet up with friends at a spot.

We had 2 setups, one for when I went to the races, one for if my parents decided to come. Dad roadraces so he has his setup. 40 foot 5th wheel with a 12 foot garage, pretty badass.

Me, I have simpler taste. Picked up a 1988 Travelaire 28 foot RV with a Ford 460 in it and pulled a 16 foot enclosed behind it. just big enough to fit both my quads and all my gear/tools. What a pig on gas though!

Companies like Outside Van and RB components and some other outfitters in the US sell those types of Motovans. I would love one but a complete van runs between $80-200k with most being over $100k. They will do a custom van for $40-80k and you supply the van. Much cheaper to attemp to do your own modifications, but those companies turn out stuff that I would probably sell my house for.

Start on trailer this weekend, just an empty box now. Everything dirtbike / camping related will go in there. It's low so it fits in the garage.
