You know, I bagged on KR pretty heavy for his wearing a designer suit to the A1 press conference yesterday. I said he looked "ridiculous"...and I really felt that at the time.
But, in retrospect I see that Roczen...on top of it being a huge PR stunt to draw attention...was actually calling us to consider elevating the status of our tiny (in comparison) sport, at least in professionalism and respectfulness to other professional sports where a press conference is done with athletes in dress attire.
So, maybe it's just an old dog like me being unwilling to expand my viewpoint. Riders have always dressed a certain way, with jerseys & caps ablazened with sponsor logos and such. That's cool, but maybe it's time for a paradigm shift...if our sport is ever going to be recognized & appreciated by the masses.

However, it would have been EPIC had he worn this... considering his new move to Shift.
Now I thought it was cool it seemed a bit out of place. I think the sport needs to land somewhere in the middle between the "NASCAR/Monster Truck" pit shirt and hat look and a business suit. However, it needs to move as a whole with regards to the press conference setting and "production"
Then the IG video rolling up in a NSX....#baller (insert eye roll)
NASCAR drivers wear their driver suits in almost all appearances. I mean, he even wore the same kind of suit and matching tie as McGregor.
Wonder how his sponsors felt as they weren't on display.

I applaud anything that brings the sport away from the flatbillers
Of course he has, and it probably wasn't his idea to roll up in a HONDA sports car...
He had his Redbull fox helmet right in front of him, no need to put a hat on and have 12 more red bull logos on your body... Breitling must have been pretty happy with him wearing his new watch to a suit and not to a honda jacket.
His paycheck doesn't care if people think he's cocky. That guy is pretty darn good at making money.
Pit Row
Pretty big fan of Kenny's on track ability
He is just a young kid, I think some of you are looking too far into things
This is how I picture everyone looking like behind their computer that are assed up by Kenny wearing a suit.
Post a reply to: Kenny "The Suit" Roczen...hindsight.
