A buddy and I are taking a 3 day trip to SoCal next Fri-Sun for some moto shenanigans. Originally I was thinking of leaving the Sacramento area around 5-6am and getting down to Milestone around noon on Friday. Now I see that there is rain in the forecast on Thursday and a few SoCal bro's have said you want nothing to do with Milestone after rain.

Maybe another hour south to Pala instead and Milestone Saturday? Any other good options? Also was thinking about Zaca or LACR Sunday to start heading back north. Any other suggestions and who's burning laps down there next weekend too?

make sure you hit up zaca while you are down here. You need to put your name on the list before you go and it was $40 the last time I went, but it is worth it. Let me know where you go on Sunday and maybe I will head out. I'm about 35 minutes from LACR and just under 2 hours from Zaca

I heard Zaca is prime and we could shoot up into Kettelman city to hit the 5 on the way home. I was leaning that direction at least. Feels like a time warp to me because other than the 2-stroke race at GH last year I haven't been down to ride in SoCal since '02 Shocked

LACR and Zaca for sure. Pala and Chahilla Creek if you make it that far.

Personally I wouldn't waste my time riding Milestone.

It's alright, it's the same for me with going up north. between 98 and 01 my dad and I were up there racing every single weekend with GFI. Since 01, I've only been up there 3 or 4 times to race/ride.

I'll be getting my suspension back from enzo this upcoming week, so let me know where you go Sunday!

Too bad it's such a long drive down the unpredictable 15 from Vegas. I would love to ride GH, Zaca, or cuhilla creek.... that and I have not ridden or started the ole KX250 since last January. Maybe I should get off my lazy ass and do my top end and revalve the forks and shock this weekend and head down any way!!!

Haha, I've threatened the last few winters to do it, finally making myself get off my lazy ass as well!

Thanks for the heads up on Milestone guys, I've only heard of it as it wasn't there the last time I frequented the area. I didn't find anything else open on Friday so I guess Pala is the go to place.

Bringing this back up because the forecast has changed t from Thurs. rain to Thurs into Friday morning around 10am with poss flash floods.

Friday looks wrecked so where are the places to go Sat- Sun that can take heavy rain the day before? Pala, Zaca and LACR?

Comp Edge is different than the old Adelanto racetrack, right?

Yes, just about 10 miles south. I heard adelanto, or 395(same place) has re-opened, but have not heard how it is.

X2 on cal city. Should be able to soak up all the rain no problem. Plus it's the desert.

Slip, let me know when you come down for your next trip. If you're up for some good trail riding, I know a place. Start out down in the desert and ride into the forest. After a rain it is awesome! If you get up high enough you'll run into snow also

Don't go to Pala if it rains hard the day before.

I've had 5 years of raising kids so my goal is to get out of town and ride a lot more now I got them off the pre K and the wifey got big promotion at her job. She's spending more time with the kids and I'm spending more time with my new girlfriend!

That was my original plan, but forecast is calling for rain from 12pm to morrow to 12pm Friday. Looks like I'll lust have to make another trip after New Years to hit Milestone and Pala!

Yup. Doesn't hold water well. I mean, it actually holds water really well. That's the problem. Cahuilla drains well and
is good decomposed granite that's great after a soak.

it depends on how much rain we get. Cahuilla takes water well, if i was dead set on riding every day i'd do cahuilla sat and pala sunday. Cahuilla is my favorite track in the area FYI. If it really dumps rain milestone, perris, elsinore usually take a few days to recover. If the tracks aren't panning out there is ocotillo wells. I might go riding monday

Headed to ride milestone right now to throw in
Some morning laps, hope the rain doesn't catch me. I'm in Irvine and the weather is warm, it's just a high cloud at the moment.

Good deal! I've been watching the reports and it still looks like noon'ish for the rain to start so you should be golden for a few motos. I'm leaving late morning tomorrow now and I'll be mud bogging Saturday if I have to, it's only a dirt bike, right?

You should run out to the desert and ride if it's raining...prime dirt and quiet! Victorville, Cal City, Gorman all have nice trail riding if you need a break from tracks.

Gorman is $5.00 too and it's before you hit traffic. And I think they groom the MX track on Friday mornings.

I'll be at LACR saturday. Weather shows sunny @ LACR for Saturday and with scattered showers friday it should be good!
