Is this the thread I posted that disappeared? What happened to it? It was titled "Mookie challenging Reed" and I was talking about being king of vague Instagram posts that everyone goes apeshit over.

What if I said the Stews will be in California next week sometime ?
If they were both in California to sign a deal and get some testing and seat time in I'd be Super Pumped. I love me some Stew!! I just hope we can get some of the old Stew!

Yet, the expect a TOP LEVEL pro to risk their life for free???

Amazing.

Plus all his gear money and any other personal deals he could secure. Geico 450 guy has always wore what he wants head to toe. If he believes he's capable of podiums then take the bonuses, contingency, purse, all his gear money/personal deals and put yourself on good equipment with a top notch team.

The riding for free shit is getting old, he wouldn't starve, and if I had to bet he might just be able to afford a couple new fishing reels to enjoy this summer. That is unless he decided it was in his best interest to race outdoors.
I remember pretty recently Matthes and JT saying Mookie was willing to ride for Geico on a performance based contract and do his own gear deal/ personal deals but Geico doesn't have the Parts or budget to put anyone on a 450 in 2017.

Funny thing...when Reedy and his wife do it, everybody says Chad is a "master at social media".

I could care less at this point if either mookie or bubba race. They lost me as a fan with there shit PR skills. They let the fans no nothing, just bait us with these lame ass cryptic social media posts. Malcom can only blame himself for not getting a ride. Sits out the nationals cause he thought he could ride off the coat tails of a East Coast SX title.Too bad for him you get forgotten real quick in this sport ...especially when you choose to sit out a series for no good reason.

He had good reason lol, basically said geico couldn't build a 250F capable of pulling his 200lb frame around a outdoor track fast enough to be competitive. Said he didn't want to ride around in 10th because of the bike.

You are not accurate but lets say he is 180, put on gear now what? He still has a 20+ lb difference than most guys in the lites class.

I hear ya. But man this saga is never ending. I don't
Understand why they just won't spit it out. I mean if you left Geico just say thanks for the good times and the championship! Not some stupid immature post.

I kind of get what you are saying there, plus they allowed him to keep his bike to race with until now too... IF indeed the picture/post was all about him leaving Honda for another ...or not

I remember starting work as a consultant. I got my first job at short notice and the site manager was having trouble getting HR to agree a fee for my work. They were having major issues so I told him I'd start work in the morning (paying my own hotel fees/expenses for the duration of the job as well as the flight for a 1500km trip to their site), start fixing their problems for them and they could pay me a fair rate at the end of the job.

I ended up getting a ton of well paid work from that client over the next 12 years and became very good friends with the site manager.

Sometimes you have to play the long game, take a bit of a initial hit to get your feet under the table. Malcolm wanted everything perfect from day one and when he didn't get it he stayed home for the summer. Not very smart.

Can we tone down the "risking their lives" tag line. Most of this board does everything they do(albeit slower) and we pay to do it. I would love to do it for free. He could have probably got a gear deal together and had all expenses paid for. Probably make $50k for 12 rounds of racing. Doesn't sound bad to me when you are just moving to the main class.
You guys may be right about this but have you ever Jumped Larrocos (sp?) leap in traffic on the first lap and then know that you have to huck it every lap no matter how chewed up the track gets??? I find it hard to believe that anyone has stood on the floor at a supercross main and thought that it looked like fun?? I know that these men have god given talent, but I assume staring at a supercross triple or a set of stadium whoops from behind a set of handlebars is a intense feeling, not to mention doing it at full tilt in traffic. MY opinion may be wrong.....but pro moto doesn't look fun to me, it looks like hard work. Of course I usually stand short on talent in certain moto instances. And I'm an old guy.Smile

I'd like to see him race it convinced he's going to win instead of lose.

I'm a fan of the Stewarts, but I suspect that much of the industry has been waiting for the chance to stick it to them. Maybe their worth has finally fallen below the trouble of dealing with their dad, entourage and all the other games they have played over the years.

I think it's good for the sport for both of them to be on the starting line, but I've also never had to cut them a check and wonder if the size of the check was worth the trouble.

Anybody consider the fact that it inadvertently looks like he's walking away in a flamboyantly angry fashion, and that he's probably just making a joke about it? By all means speculate away though. . .

I get it. Damn, I'm losing it. I was thinking the exact same thing the other day. That Mookie must be a graduate of the "Chad Reed School of Social Media".
