Just read a list of who was in & who was not for MEC on a Saturday night. Most that were going to be no-shows didnt surprise me, but what's up with Trey Canard. The list for RedBull zkTM had Dungey & Musquin...but it listed Trey as not going to line up.

Did I miss something? Is Trey injured again? What's up with TC41?

Probably because he had to move to Florida and has had around 13 days on the bike.

I have to say, at this level just run what you got.

I don't understand the thought behind not racing this when you switch teams. It's the perfect time to set a baseline on where you stand on a new bike. There's literally no pressure because everyone understands the new bike thing but come on, you can't get it 90% dialed in two weeks? And as we have seen in the past (Barcia, Canard, Millsaps, Stew, Anderson), the results don't seem to even indicate that the winner is gonna be the frontrunner going into SX. I'm sure all the riders are aware that a lot changes from now until A1 and they aren't going to be mentally defeated because of an average performance on a new bike 3 months before the season.

The easy solution to me is to make contracts start on September 1st with some sort of clause about MXON.

Having a bike at 90% after 2 weeks doesnt make any difference at all if the rider isnt healthy enough to race, which is why Trey isnt racing.

His wife said why he isn't racing in the image kzizok posted, but by all means, keep speculating that it's because of being on a new team...

I didn't see that before I hit submit. It doesn't change the mindset though as many other riders have or will continue to do this.

I'm actually really surprised that he's not going to be training with Aldon. I got that one wrong for sure.

Trey needs to take his time and show up at his best once A-1 roots around. I don't blame him a bit. I really want to see his luck turn around this year.

At some point in the last year, there was a video of Aldon saying he didn't want to take on another 450 guy because there are only 3 spots on the podium.

The last guy that was offered the KTM spot was told he would have to move to Florida and train with Aldon as part of the contract. I figured that was going to be the new norm. Especially when he listed his house in Oklahoma and said he was moving to Florida. Boy... I was duped ! Laughing

well, we should just become a communist country and then we can just force the athletes to do any event we want them to. problem solved...

Where did I say anything about forcing them to do it? My entire point is why wouldn't they WANT to just to see how they stack up and what areas to focus on during their prep period? And my point about contracts is that that would give them another month (in public) on the bike so they could be more comfortable attending these off season races. If they choose not to, that's fine.

Trey can gauge his speed by comparing lap times to other racers at the test track, they don't necessarily need a race environment to get baseline data. At this level, and Trey's level specifically, those little differences can mean everything. I think it's smart to not race MEC at this point because we all know Trey doesn't want to just go out and turn laps for the heck of it, he wants to win.

That being said, he'll be at MEC but not to race. If you're there, ask him yourself why he isn't racing. hahaha

Also in 2011 Dungey raced the MEC when he only had a very short time on the bike. RV won all 3 motor but Dungey finished 2nd.

Trey just came back from and injury AND just started riding , and riding a whole new bike.

Where do some of you guys get your logic?

Besides that , Jeffrey has been training on the 450 for years. He was completely healthy and familiar with that bike.
