Minis's don't have killer corner speed
Only a few
Just kidding.
I'd buy him some clubs, take him golfing and teach him to "scrub" using the ball washer.
Quick question. Can you scrub Dad?
The OP already said in his first post he couldn't scrub. That's the reason he's asking how to teach his kid.
Sounds like a good way to get hurt. Maybe make him do a figure 8 in your yard a few nights a week. Or buy him a fly rod.
jump for show
let him go onto the face of the jumps and let him take the majority of the force with his legs instead of his suspension, once he is just over the lip with his front wheel let him push down with all the force he has.
Important in this technique is timing and make both legs and arms work simultaneously.
Stand tall trough the compression once the rebound starts take as much as possible force of that with you arms and legs
That way your rebound will not send you that high up in the air and allows your son to get a much lower and more forward/faster trajectory without the dangers of a scrub.
And if you really have a private track at your disposal is suggest to make hip jumps to both side's start of with regular rollers/walls that way he learns the feel of leaning over on the face of the jump once he has that feeling make the same jumps/roller/walls on a straight he will quickly figure out himself he has to flick the bike over in order to keep his speed up and not lose to many momentum

Pit Row
Look at Andrew Short. Kenny even calls him the elevator. But he made a heck of a career and never even seemed to whip the bike. He's just really good at the rest of it.
I'd worry about it once he can't make up time on the other kids who are 100% in the corners and making time scrubbing.
Which one will translate better to his friends? A fast corner pic or a scrub pic?
You're so out of touch...
Not much difference than a scub and the leaning part will come eventually
