Surprised that nobody has mentioned this article on Friday. Pretty much the same stuff we knew but some interesting info in the article as well. Sounds like the Pieck deal is on thin ice at JGR and he did mention Wilson might be the number 2 rider. Also sounds like the 2nd team still has a shot with Philthy and maybe Wilson. Seems the Mookie deal as well is a pretty much done deal with Geico and Honda. As far as JS7 goes he did say Honda was the option if he was going to ride. The deal with Yosh was true of him and Yosh parting ways before the Dilla. And it's safe to say he has turned a few laps on a Honda at the compound already. Now let's see what kind of deal he can put together or if somebody steps up in the next 30 days or so. Going to be a pretty interesting deal leading up the Monster cup you think ?

That wouldn't even be a clue. I don't think he rode much or stayed in shape, when he had a contract.

Nothing more motivating than when the music stops.

I think anyone would be crazy to sign him on anything other than a loooowwww salary and heavy bonus.

He has the skills but has dropped the ball.

the article said nowhere that mookie to geico was a done deal or anywhere close to that.
I wouldn't bet on seeing js7 race mec but if he were to race, his deal could look well different in january.

I do hope JS7 comes out fit as dungey and just kills it on a 7 HRC backed 17 Crf450. Just a killer performance that really jumpstarts everyone.

I hope to win the lottery, there are better chances of that happening and I don't even buy a ticket.

The JGR deal should be interesting to see who they pick and if 2nd team happens.

Stewart should either go all in 100% to riding, training and commitment OR retire. He's been on a downward spiral for years.

Bubba's done, folks!! He was done a long time ago. At this point, hiring him for even a performance based contract would be foolish. Since leaving Kawasaki, he's probably the worst Return On Investment rider in the history of the sport. Dudes been bilking teams for years.

Did he win 5-6 SX races in 2014 racing RV?

You would have a better chance of seeing JS, win the next 50 SX titles in a row, than win the lottery!

Yes Phil, I do believe that almost three years ago he did win 4-5 races which is pretty consistent with his years from 2010 thru 2016. Wink

Edit: and I was going to mention to Nate that if you're going to dream, dream big, they always say.
I think that if none of the big teams are too interested in picking a rider up, then that speaks volumes about their thoughts on a riders potential performance. That being said, JS will have a huge uphill battle to get back to the top (meaning it is going to take a monumental effort on his part in commitment to get there).

As far as JS7, the most telling indicator to me was the pulp podcast with Larry Brooks. He hints, without saying it outright, that there are things going on behind the scenes that are basically leaving the chances of a fit, trained, motivated JS7 showing up at 0.0℅. IMO the way he said it, he knows what is going on but didn't want to blow JS out.

I've been saying this for some time. He, JT and Racerx talk crap about the same folks they get half of their material from, Vitalmx! Take it as a compliment.

I find it interesting that some riders get "factory" rides based on high levels of success, over time, that they had as privateers (or close) and then not really improve (and even go backwards) on the factory ride.

That would be interesting. Yamaha has seemingly sorted the 450 out since JS7 days.

JGR second team performance based contract only for JS7.

BIG win bonus, podium pays heavy, a little dough for 4th and fifth. Heat race win bonus.

If he performs great for everyone! If not, still good for JGR as he brings a lot of publicity for relatively nothing.

Fool me once shame on you, but fool me twice..........

JGR pays all that money fior Bam Bam & they wound not want to throw some at JS7? Atleast Stew would get the crowd to the truck. Even with the bad year he had, I wound still put my money on a healthy Stew to win over Bam Bam!

Honestly Idk anything about the stews now. I usually get some inside info just like I did from the whole sexton being out thread. But I keep hearing different things with stew so I'm lost with that. But I have been told he's riding a Honda at the compound
