They must have some beef cattle as I have heard Mookie talk about having to feed the cows. Spending some time on the long end of a pitch fork and the short end of hay hooks 7 days a week would put an end to getting blisters from riding. I bet Jeff Stanton never got a blister....

Dude comes off of having having to deal with his wife having a kid, and rides to a 10th place literally from the couch, he said it before the first moto, he hasnt ridden and was tired some of you old fuckers or you young dumb fuckers hate on him for pulling out of moto two.
To the damn cw's (construction workers) in here talking about if i had blisters my boss would fire me blah blah blah... stfu, swinging a hammer with blisters or cutting pipe is a whole lot easier than fucking beating the piss out of yourself lap after lap for 30 min +2 with some of the fastest professionals in the world.. what you delt with heat and blisters on your job wrap your hands and shut up.
Its annoying how much hate you read on here and then the guys who dont think for themselves or cant type more then a sentence talk straight out their asses..
Some will think this is a rage post, but its not, just the truth of constant double standards of one particular rider.
He should wear a patch that says "The rider that people love to hate"
Moto 1 was huge for Stew. Gotta be hard for the former fastest man in the world to be happy with finishing where he did; but for fucks sake, he finished at race. Keep the momentum rolling, focus on the fitness and just worry about having fun out there; nothing else.
The idea that anyone is above judgement is a dangerous precedent.
But if he is pulling off because hes too tired or his hands hurt then it seems like he is wasting his sponsors and his teams efforts. He is a professional veteran and he knows what needs to be done to show up and finish two motos. He has all the resources including a state of the art practice track in the front yard, practice bike mechanic, all the support in the world.
Maybe you have personal experience with racing nationals and working construction 5 days a week. I never rode a National, but I have put in 30 minutes of racing in 105deg heat on Sunday and then got up the next morning and started my 40 to 50 hour work week literally digging ditches with shovel and pick for a Landscaper in 100deg plus weather. I can tell you it would have been a lot easier to do another 30 minutes on the track Sunday with blisters than show up and work five 8 hour days with blisters.
But that's not anything extraordinary a lot of other guys did the same thing. I think about the privateers that have full time jobs, maybe construction jobs that work all week, work on their own bikes ( no practice bike mechanics), don't have time for practice anyway. Then show up at a National and have to ride a qualifier in the morning before the first moto . No air conditioned motorhomes. You don't see these guys pulling out because of blisters.
Im not trying to throw Stewart under the bus but either he just doesn't give a shit or there is something more serious than blisters or just not being in race shape going on it seems. I would really like to see him get it together and put in a good season maybe even pull off a win.
I see Steve Bauer posted above. I think he knows something about working on your own bike and racing Nationals on top of a schedule of local races.
James Stewart is at the twilight of his career.
James Stewart changed riding style forever.
James Stewart is a new Dad.
Let's have some perspective please.
Thank you James Stewart.
Credible members would be JT$, starling or Hahn
I get it you raced 40 minute Motos but no where near the intensity of today's riders.
I raced against the best riders in the United States every Sunday for years, whether it was at CMC Carlsbad, Saddleback, or at an AMA National. Trust me, it was every bit as intense as racing is today. Were we in the kind of shape that these guys are? No way. Knowledge is acquired over time and the application of that knowledge results in more efficient and effective training methods...also known as the evolution of the sport. We also raced on bikes that would spit you over the bars with no notice, probably over 150 times, for me.
Factor in that currently I'm actually paid to write my opinions about anything motorcycle-related that I choose; have covered races and written features for Racer X, TWMX, Cycle News and a major SoCal newspaper; co-founded the 2008 AMA MX National Team of the Year and have been involved in the sport for over 45 years. Toss in that I kicked Rocket Rex Staten's ass in a fistfight (that was broken up by the current AMA SX referee) and have been mopping the floors of motocross forums with guys like you since the motonews/motodrive days.
I'm pretty sure I'm a "credible member".
That said, anyone who has thrown a leg over an MX bike and sat behind a starting gate with a bunch of other guys just like him...then raced his ass off for a trophy, cash, or bragging rights, is more than credible and has an opinion as valid as anyone else's in here, including me.
Anyone that disagrees can KMPWA!
Pit Row
He should have been better prepared or just pushed through it.
Remember when Carmichael was sick and shit his pants. He still won the moto.
This Stewart would go pull off for a diaper changing.
Bauer, don't you know that intensity came to MX in 2016. Before that it was just a bunch of dope smoking hippies.
I tell you....the kids nowadays just don't have a clue
As for your photo and things that cannot be unseen......it just occurred to me that you mooning Bob is probably the reason Bob left MX and has not been back on a dirt bike since. This photo also illustrates the one time the rest of us are glad we are not Bob Hannah. :-)
You know, man...even if Stewart didn't do what we wanted him to do, or wished he would have done, or whatever...he still came back to finish a full moto without crashing or pulling off. The deal in the second moto that was blamed on "blisters" sucks...but he showed that he can build on it. He can put in some boot camp laps at the compound this week, and build some callouses and some endurance. Maybe we'll see an improved James Stewart next weekend.
Here is to James building up health, stamina, and confidence going into 2017.
The culture of homeschooling and parents giving up their professional lives so little johnny can race and be a factory supported rider is ruining families and people. They are under an enormous amount of pressure to pay back their families for all of their sacrifice. It has taken a toll on many. Including Josh Grant and Davi Millsapps.
Again, I love James and I am comfortable with where he finishes now just to continue to see him race. He can finish wherever he wants and not tarnish the legacy. But to be forced to race because he has to pay the entourage is sad. Again, my $.02.
My opinion was , I thought the first moto and a 10th place was a really good start. It's been a while. And even though I was disappointed that he didn't make moto 2....you know what? He came out healthy and should be on the gate up here in Washougal next week. I sure hope he races the remaining rounds and stays healthy.
He's paid a lot of money to race....but still , a guy has to start some where. I think this past weekend was just that...a good start.
Post a reply to: Ummm wheres Stewart 7 in moto 2 ?
