I remembers the Moto911 spray, I used it a couple times and there is a "cooling" feeling when the air from riding hits your skin. I know everyones been making fun of this (mainevent podcast, etc) but I remember always getting hit up for it before peoples motos.

First thing that comes to mind is matthes saying "spray the field with pump"
Here are some words from the webpage
"First use the 4Arm Strong device, then rub the spray into your forearms. 4Arm Strong Sport Spray can be used topically anywhere on the body to reduce pain and stiffness. Positive results have also been realized on the back, neck, shoulders, hips, knees, hamstrings, ankles and calves.

4Arm Sport Spray is a positively charged, ionic mineral solution infused with our proprietary blend of Magnesium oil, Arnica, essential oils and sodium bicarbonate. Designed for athletes and active adults, 4Arm Strong Sport Spray works synergistically with the human body to positively affect energy levels and muscle function for peak performance."

Has anyone tried this? Seems like snake oil to me (edit: it also reminds me of those hologram bracelets from a while back), with that said it is a steal at $29.95 for 8oz. I would be interested to hear the opinion of someone who has a formal sports medicine education and of course from my fellow Vital peeps.

I'm sure he'll have something to say about it on the Podcast this week.

He said that he got booted from Vital for his last rant. My favorite part is the "Dead Sea Mineral" That alone says snake oil all the way.

This company reminds me of the old adage "A fool and his money are soon parted"

Forearm pain while riding comes from overdeveloped flexor muscles (the ones that hold onto the bars) versus underdeveloped extensor muscles (the ones that push your fingers / thumb apart).

Getting a strong rubber band, and training very high rep finger extension will absolutely help alleviate arm pump, but for some reason everyone in the moto industry thinks you need some kind of magic fix.
Is that true? I've never heard that explanation before. I hope so cause what an easy fix!

Any form of sport / manual labour where you train flexors too much will have this problem with forearm pain - http://www.physioadvisor.com.au/injuries/elbow-forearm/ - second paragraph

The problem is the broscientist moto trainers who insist 'weight training makes it worse'. A basic anatomy/physiology textbook would go a long way. Muscle imbalances cause pain, and injuries.

I did gymnastics for years since I was 5. The really good gymnastic ring guys need extra training for forearm extensors to prevent pain, because they aren't doing enough handstands to offset all the grip work from the rings. I've also ridden mountain bikes for 20 years and motorbikes for 6, and never suffered arm pump / grip failure, because I've trained handstands almost my whole life.

Just my theory, and I'm not a physiotherapist / exercise scientist, just a guy who's trained in some form for a long time and read a few books / listened to a few physiotherapy podcasts for ideas on rehabbing my own injuries.

I'll just edit so I'm clear - I AM OFFERING A FALLACIOUS ARGUMENT HERE, ARGUMENT FROM CLAIMED AUTHORITY - DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH - don't trust snake oil companies, either.

I don't know who to be more pissed at this Quack for putting out crap that absolutely, positively, without a doubt does nothing or the clueless people that buy it?

None of the ingredients in this bottle have the ability to penetrate through the skin, if they did you would most likely need a prescription for it or have to buy it directly from a pharmacist.

Don't waist your money.

Grinning I love the rare times on Vital when there is a voice of reason.

What works best for arm pump that I've found is good old fashioned hard work on the motorcycle! But hey, to each his own!

Some guy was peddling that shit at an oldtimer race a few years ago. For some stupid reason I let the guy spray the shit on my arms. The only difference I noticed was everyone voted me the best smelling 50 novice and started talking to me with a French accent, calling me Gigi, Fifi and Pierre and shit. Wasn't what I would call a positive experience. When I got home and opened my gearbag everything in it smelled like a French whore too so that was a bonus.
