Parts is no different than any other brand, better than most. Dealers don't stock parts anyway...

I have needed 0 parts or warranty the 1st year.
"Dealers don't stock parts anyway..." Truer words have never been spoken. It infuriates me when even a basic part like a common clutch or throttle cable...
"Dealers don't stock parts anyway..." Truer words have never been spoken. It infuriates me when even a basic part like a common clutch or throttle cable is the typical "We can order that for you"

Oh Yea? Support the local dealer you say?

Hmmm I can also order it myself too....now I get a not so common part but my old parts manager (circa 2002) would've shot us in the head if we didnt stock at least 1 of each OEM letter piston i.e. A, B, C, D. for any line we carried and at the shop I worked at we had pretty much all of them (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki) ..... One time a few years ago I strolled into a Honda only dealer and had to order a current gen (at the time) CRF Oil Filter and Rear Fender...The fender I can ever so slightly (.001%) agree on but the oil filter order left me speechless.
Didn't have a damn air filter last time I stopped in.

Will most of the bikes pictured run 70 mph? I don't have to get on the interstate on my commute to work but I do hit a lane for about 4 miles and would feel better if I knew I could maintain the flow of traffic. I'm looking for something to keep from putting so many miles on my truck and have always like the dual sport bikes over any ole street bike.

I stock parts..probably 50 grand or more in parts on the shelf. Had a guy riding the TAT come in this morning and needed wheel bearings for a 02 640. Had parts and loaned him tools and he was back going again in about an hour. Don't paint everyone with the same brush.

The 450x pictured above hit 95mph on Route 66- about 30 minutes after that photo was taken. And that's not even the Baja gearing...

The ktm 500, the 501fe, and the beta 500 will be my struggle next year.

Great thread, great bikes.

I've had the Supermoto model of this bike for a few months and would love to buy the Enduro as well. SM is too much fun!

Did you make any gearing changes or swap out piston heads for a lower compression ratio?

I love my 13 500EXC, just heading out today for a week of riding out in interior British Columbia. It doesn't get any better than Kelowna in June!

Thanks guys
Rdub - yae I was a big Doug Henry fan for quite a while - still am, hence the "19"

And yes, I geared it up a bit for road use.

Motor is stock, except for Modded carb, pipe, and a Hinson slipper clutch.
