SUMMORY:

A couple of guys quit working for a team because they couldn't work anymore for free.
An owner cusses a lot in front of kids

Everybody loves a good train wreck, especially when there are body parts laying around!

Two thoughts about this thread.

The Rock.. This is none of my business, but how often do you travel from HI to attend races if you don't mind me asking? That just seems like a ton of "seat time" flying. I guess you get used to it, but man that would get old.

Second thought, I realize this is entertaining drama, but I really don't know why you guys care. This is about as bad as the Housewives arguing crap shows my wife watches. I know she is entertained by the drama, but we are supposed to be men (well, 2/3) with strong backs, balls, and livers. I don't see a lot of that here. Grinning
IMO, I'd rather know about this kind of thing happening (if it is true) because a big part of my life is riding and people around me/at work know that. I don't want to accidentally get associated with bigots/racists. A lot of people already associate bikes with trash unfortunately. It's the same with music, people joke that the metal music I listen to is all satanic or racist somehow, some people actually believe that (you can youtube them haha).

John Slater / Tyler King / Larry Brooks under the same tent. What could possibly go wrong? Laughing

How about Lucky Nichols as the new team manager?

Yeah,ice cold from the freezer.

Maybe that's what this guy needs to mellow him out, course it can go the other way and have you swinging at shadows and bumping the head, this guy may not handle another bump to the head.

This is the only account in this entire thread, that seems to me at least, to be the least bit plausible. When people inject a lot of emotion into defending their position, to the point of being rabidly so, it loses credibility in my opinion. This account simply seems to be a reporting of the event without trying to throw someone else under the bus to make their story more believable. At least that's my take on this cluster.
Yeah, it sounds right, but...

DC confirmed he did not take any cards, so it has at least one major lie in it.
Also, for a witness, how do they know the full story. For example did the guy follow the issue to both entrances to catch all the events...

Doesn't stack up either.

Most of the expensive dog foods are a load of crap. With the exception of a few they, are all pretty similar.

"Rock's interpretation to DC?" I gave DC zero interpretation and only told him the rig was getting ejected and along with the team. I guess you missed the part where DC mentioned the role I played in having your riders being able to race on Saturday.

I also wasn't present at the gate altercation as I was in the BB pit. I did hear Slater reference an exchange with the female security but I didn't get the details nor was I interested as "it wasn't my table." I didn't think anything more about it until Mr. Kent came over and called John to the edge of the canopy advising him to leave the premises.

Thanks to your post saying that about me and your lying that Larry had already been let go as Team Manager I am now sorry I went to get DC. No matter you've demonstrated why my favorite expression is no good deed goes unpunished.

I am sorry for drafting LB into the team but I will never be sorry leaving the effort at GH last year. There was NOTHING mutual about it. I still met the team at Denny's (and I paid for everyone's food because I wanted to) the next day. I texted you and John later that day reminding you when someone as a sponsor's shirt on THEY ARE REPRESENTING the sponsor. Accordingly I advised via text wasn't a good idea for a team owner to be dropping F bombs and Mo Fo bombs at a public restaurant when there are families with children in the next booth over. I sent I believe three texts to you and John offering suggestions on how best to proceed now that I had left. I wanted you guys to succeed but couldn't hang any longer witnessing what I kept seeing. I was sad to hear Broc's grip came off causing the big femur breaking crash but man was I glad I wasn't associated with your team when that avoidable incident occurred.

By the way let me know if you or Broc needs a new shovel. Yours have be getting dull from all the digging.

Good for you Rock for standing your ground, 2 sides to every story but when one side is about 100-1 verifying the other side was wrong then Mr. Slater probably should learn to control his temper (or at least learn when to admit he was wrong).

And Mr. Dead King, I have on this forum previously commented several times in support of your effort (and I started buying Blue Buffalo for my dogs 2 years ago because of it- and they love it). My wife actually bought some other high priced "Nutro?" shit and they looked at her like she was trying to feed them poison. I won, dogs know I am right.

But take a step back and try and look at this from a neutral stance, defending a wrong doesn't make it a right no matter how hard you try. It is only getting worse, as much as you and Broc try- just say sorry- he got mad and f'ed up. Move on.

You're right AZ35. Point taken, sir. Thank you and everyone else for your support. Moved on.

Highly incorrect.

there is a huge difference in dog foods. However, just because one is expensive and advertises a lot, doesn't make it better than a lesser known brand.

Similar in overall quality not contents, when talking about anything decent. Obviously there are terrible ones and good ones, I meant out of the ones considered decent. Prices range a ton for these and there is little benefit from the most expensive ones. It's the same as regular food... look at the ingredients, if its crap you can tell. If it claims miracles and costs twice as much its probably a waste.

This thread won't be complete until this Slater dude chimes in and spins a bearing in front of us all. Meanwhile, the marketing team at Blue Buffalo are in the midst of a major facepalm just hoping to keep their jobs after getting the company involved in this mess. Isn't the internet great? (sarcasm alert)

I have been a part pf this board for nearly 10 years, its always funny to me that people always seem to want to know about this type of stuff. It's fascinating. Same way TMZ is popular and the news is convoluted with great "newsworthy" topics.

Shit happens. People say shit they don't mean all the time. People have bad days. People may or may have a skewed vision of someone from past personal experiences. So what? The altercation, to me doesn't define a persons existence. its over. its in the proper hands of the officials and the people involved. We don't have a "right" to know.

I have known Tyler King my whole life. Consider him an older brother. If anyone wants to see someone who bleeds moto, is as passionate as anyone about moto and is as loyal to his friends as anyone can be, then Tyler is your guy. If I had to go to war, I would gladly fight with Tyler.

that all being said... the most excited thing happened yesterday. After 10 years I finally fucking figured out how to post a picture. I only hope I can do Jarrid proud and I have already promised myself I won't over use this but .......

Guys let me tell you from experience that none of these people on here defending themselves are the problem. How do I know? Maybe because I was one of them, hell if you google Slater Skins my sons bike still pops up as the picture.

Tyler King - Stand up guy who works his ass off and is very passionate about the sport and is trying to make a difference. He will fight for what he believes in and really wants to make a difference for the riders. Not to mention one hell of a marketing guy, who does all of this while working a full time job and raising a family.

Rock - Stand up guy who definitely fights for what he believes in. He has been in the industry forever and has a deep passion for it and the riders. He also believes in the concept and wants to bring more money in to give back to the riders.

Broc - Stand up kid, who I have personally known since he was on 60's. Well mannered very polite young man, who is one hell of a rider I might add. He wants to go racing and this is how he does!

Larry Brooks - I personally don't know, but his championships speak for itself about his knowledge. Many years of experience racing at the top level. I question his motives wanting to get involved with this team, but none the less he handled the GH situation with the upmost professionalism, which has earned some respect.

Blue Buffalo - These guys are the most stand up group of business people I have ever been involved with. I can tell you personally they kept their word to my son Ryan even without a contract. When my son got hurt with a concussion in St. Louis, Ryan didn't get a call from the team owner. He did get a call from Dave at Blue Buffalo.

Don't penalize or punish these hard working guys who are actually trying to help our sport and the riders in it. Truth is if we don't find a way to help riders like Broc make a decent living then you will have many more riders like my son Ryan retiring at an early age before they ever reach their potential.

Maybe he could claim that he has a concussion problem from the past and get out of all this?

The only defense I seem to be hearing is that those involved are "hard-working," "passionate," "bleed moto," and "willing to fight for what they believe in." And the people posting these defenses have "known them forever." What's funny is that these are not only biased opinions, but they don't even defend what happened at Glen Helen. Being passionate about motocross and working hard does not defend swearing in front of children, making racial slurs, or throwing a temper tantrum at Glen Helen staff.

It doesn't help that none of the defendants have a firm grasp on the English language.
