Hello fellow vitards! Are you ready to see some sick battles with Stank dog 726? If you are, I need your help. I put a bet together with a very good friend and ama pro racer Chris Canning 376. The bet was he had to get 1000 likes on his instagram picture and he would sell his bikes and focus his outdoor season on a 125! I think it would be awesome to get another 125 out on the track. And hey this isn't another go fund me, all you have to do is like the picture! Sharing it would also help!! Chris qualified for every national last year except for one due to injury! He would definitely be a fan favorite! I will be supporting him at as many nationals as I can make it to with him just like I have done in the past. Get to liking!!!!

Usually if you're doing something like this a link would be useful.

Chris is tremendously talented, and would do well if he had a supported ride with one of the 250 teams. Hopefully this will help his career, but it's not the direction I would take. His results over previous years are not likely to improve, and it will be difficult for potential employers to gauge his progress.

Seems like odd reasoning to base the decision on but whatever. I just liked it and it's now over 700 likes.

I say using the 2 stroke ploy to make his name known. Can't really see any other good reason.

Yeahhhhh dude, sell everything and buy a 125 to ride practice at the nationals!

I recommend selling everything and putting a down payment on a house, or going to college, or put it toward starting a business, or some sort of investment...

He's trying to get followers, thus more valuable to his sponsors.

Not sure why everyone's so negative about this. I'm fucking excited, 2 125s going at it on the pro level. This is more exciting than anything else going on in the Moto world right now

I doubt we will see much racing action from the 125s, even if they are able to qualify most races. Steinke barely made it on a few occasions (may have had a dnq) last year. Canning is one of the fastest guys from New England, and he was beating Decotis and Brooks routinely a couple years ago. He needs to break into the top twenty a few more times, and some teams will start showing interest. He's only 21 or 22 years old, and should have plenty of time to pursue other ventures when moto is no longer viable. I hope this does work out for him, but I'd rather see him trying to score some points on the 250F.

Exactly what I was thinking. I rode my 125 on my track here at home this evening. It's just way more fun!

Great bet. It's going to work out. We're at 943. Rooting for the kid.

So we got 10+ dudes that can win in the 250 class, 20 factory riders in the 450 class and 5+ that can win, yet 2 125's getting lapped is the most exciting thing in the moto world. Very interesting perspective.

Steinke's deal is a bit different than this as well. Steinke has a paying job, Arenacross. He gets given a couple 125's, and I'm sure gets more funding on this 125 than he would on a 250f. He's an extremely talented guy and would be in points paying positions on a 250f, and he will be able to squeak it in some rounds on the 125. It's a bit more understandable.

what's your fucking problem, bro?
Don't like, don't post.
what a nozzle

I like 2 strokes as much as anyone but considering the cost to get to the nationals, the time you spend training, and what you can expect in return why? I mean you have dug a hole that you can never climb out of. Meanwhile the kids you came up with are learning and improving riding 250F's.

If we get get him 10,000 likes will he sell the 125 for a supermini?

anyone that watches AMA national know's the name Steinke , i don't live in the states but follow both SX and outdoors i could not tell you anyone name outside the top 10 of the 250 class but i know Steinke , if he was top 15 on 250F i could not have a clue who he was , being know and people taking an interest brings sponsorship and that brings cash .

it was very smart move if you have an ounce of business sense

16 Zachary Osborne 20-4 19 pts.
38 Christian Craig 15-8 19 pts.
44 Adam Cianciarulo 12-11 19 pts.
69 Colt Nichols 14-12 16 pts.
31 RJ Hampshire 5-38 16 pts.
128 Alex Frye 10-17 15 pts.
36 Justin Hill 21-13 8 pts.
66 Arnaud Tonus 22-15 6 pts.
289 Mitchell Harrison 16-20 6 pts.
46 Luke Renzland 19-19 4 pts

Never herd of those guys huh? If he had the ability to get top 15 finishes consistently there is no way he would consider riding a 125.

Maybe he just has more fun on a 125...

I'd love to see like 4-5 guys on 125s against the 250s. It'd be cool to have a little series within a series. If the AMA won't give us a dedicated 125 class, we can just say screw it and make our own. Then you could crown a winner at the end of the season based on who the best 125 was. Just a thought...
