Pretty good, candid read by RV2. Man if his fans respected RD5 as much as he did/does there wouldn't be anything to talk about on here Wink Hell, he even admitted he worried about JS7 a lot. Good read from a great champion.

he worried about js7 when they were racing (as a competitor) . now he is just questioning what the heck is up with james like the rest of the mx world does.

he has some good points tho. unless someone is just outright faster than dungey, dungey will win the title again and again. barring injury or dnf's.

Agree with you on all points! I think everyone wishes they knew what was up with JS7? Hopefully he makes the outdoors a better place with his presence.

Yeah that was really good. Spot on. But its got to be a joke when he said that he and RD doesn't do agressive passing? Lol the second RV caught someone he would put in a wheel and make the pass.

Me too. Even if he was by himself out front I enjoyed watching him ride.

Great job Steve!

Nobody, before or since, can steer a bike with the throttle and rear wheel like that man. He just looked fast, always!

Stew did a pretty good job with that at one time too.

RV was always a good guy, especially if you ever tslked to him with no one around. Its his fans that were over the top asshats.

Stew shredded/shreds no doubt, but he was way more of a "steerer" than RV. FMOTP at one time? No doubt! He'll always have the bubba scrub and many other defining characteristics of his own. RV gets the steer with the rear title.

Agree! Even during their epic outdoor battles RV admitted there were places he couldn't match Dungey and RV's grandpa told him he wasn't training at the right places! Good stuff. He is a great guy that didn't love or need the limelight. His rabid fans, BILLC comes to mind on RX comments here, are/were unreasonably biased. Maybe more so than Stew haters? Is that even possible?

RV never got aggresive in the sense of cleaning people out ala Friese or Nick wey lcq passes, but he didnt wait around for guys to wave him by either, he just...went around them, many guys focus on the ass of the guy in front too much which is why you get congo lines

It seems crazy that he didn't worry about the guy whom he knew would be there every weekend but instead worried about the inconsist Stewart. If Dungey would of got a little aggressive he may have beaten Villopoto more then once for a sx title.

Good read. The thing that always struck me about Ryan's technique especially on 450's was how he would grab a huge handful way early in the corners. He liked to steer with that back wheel.

Cause I think he knew he had Dungey covered speed wise, but at the time even, though he was faster most times, he felt and knew stew just had some crazy ass speed that even he couldn't match

So what did you think about his comments on Aldon?

i honestly think that's why RC retired. james back in RCs era at least in SX could just plainly do amazing stuff. pure talent and back then the only time he crashed was because he truly did things no one else would event try and most of the time he would pull it off,. its too bad we will never know what james could have done if he didn't get side tracked with that Tv show and his Sx only years. that seemed to be when things unraveled for him

My biggest regret so far as moto is concerned is that I was not a fan earlier. In my humble opinion, second only to the GOAT. Even then, I think RV would have whooped RC plenty of times.

You can think what you want of course, but in an interview by DC a young 125 riding RC clearly stated he was going to win "his" championships and retire! Davey of course laughed but that is exactly what he did.

I'd say 3 125 MX titles, SeVeN 250/450 MX titles(3 undefeated seasons, 2 24-0's) and 5 SX titles with numerous MXdN wins etc etc etc Maybe, just maybe all that WINNING had something to do with retiring for RC.

Right on OC. I ran that pick as my desktop for several years till the motherboard caught fire. And I'm not even a RV fan boy. Just love the action. The way he could manual that bike through whoops and rollers too while on the gas hard was insane!!

Good read, RV tells it like it is. Kind of funny what he said about Stewart, and Aldon is the A-Game for sure.
