As others have said, this is an awesome story and thank you for sharing it with us!!

To anyone reading this: Use this story as inspiration for your own life. ALL of us have the power to make a positive impact in someone else's life. Sometimes even the smallest things that require hardly any real effort can have an profound impact on someone; especially young people who are still impressionable and can truly benefit from positive influence and role models.

People helping people.... It's a beautiful thing.

This is good stuff Kyle,
I remember Shae very well as I thought he, Swink and MC would be tough competitors for years to come.
It's to bad Brian Swink and Shae Bentley would circum to injuries.
I think McGrath is a very good rider but I think with Swink and Bentley in the mix would have made all three very cool to watch for years to come.

Ironic; My daughters name is Shea (Spelling), coincidence? maybe I remembered the name from somewhere and liked it...Smile

HOF read Kyle, Thxs for sharing. need more of this in todays world.

Great story.
Shae is a great guy.
He gave me a jersey the year he won the title and it's one of my favorites to this day and I have a massive jersey collection.
He had some health issues a few years back but he still lives down in Georgia and i forget where he works.

VERY cool story bro.

I think it's rare in any sport to find an athlete like that. He was one of a kind for sure. Wasn't his full name Derrick Shae Bentley or something like that?

Nicely done and love your work too. Sounds like Mxjef is a pretty cool guy too. If he would stop playing Destiny online maybe we could all do some moto's like the old days.Tongue

Pitted next to him at a couple LLQ's last year, won't find a more genuine down to earth guy.

Yes, that is his full name.

I was more concerned with my own racing at the time and not so much worried about catching all the pro races, so to me, it seems like Shae cams and went in a flash. The thing I remember most was how buttery smooth he was!!

Looking at those jerseys. I used to ride with Tommy Hofmaster, and raced Denny Stephenson in Iowa back in the day. Cody Gilmore used to live around Spencer, Iowa I believe.
Very good read, thanks for sharing
