Cool, he is grown and makes his own choices, get caught then deal with it.

I don't want to sound like a hippie or like I'm even defending Jlaw, because I'm not since I don't know him, but....................some people really and truly are not all that motivated by material success, fame, money, what have you. That is near blasphemy in the US and especially regarding anyone with his potential, but it doesn't make it wrong. This could be Jason's case, or he could be a moron. None of us knows what's in his mind. But only the most uptight people or authority freaks really have any problem with some guy smoking bud and riding motocross, and otherwise enjoying life in his hometown. This is exactly what Jason seems to be doing. The only reason there is any belly aching over it is because he happens to have potential to be a Top 5 Pro. But he's not actually doing anything wrong.
Sure you never know what's in someones head and I can be wrong but "enjoying life" would've been the last thing I'd give the guy credit for. Especially after that clip

Sympathy! As the motocross community we are, we should care about our own. No matter if it's weekend warrior joe or umpteenth time MX/SX champion. I really don't care what Jason, Stroupe, Izzy or whatever their name is did to end up where they are now. I want them to do good and live a normal life.

All in all, I was entertained by that video but JLaw isn't a good guy by most accounts.

There are a few that have sorted their shit out and have become reputable citizens of society - I salute those guys.

But, in JLs defense, he hasn't hurt anyone.
He's not sitting in a jail somewhere for hiring a hit man to murder a rival or anything.Whistling

His life, his choices, who the fuck does anyone think they are to judge or tell a guy how to be?

You don't consider that "hurting" someone??

Jesus, I've been in half a dozen fights over the years with guys I know.
Usually, it was over a girl and booze induced.
We laugh about it now.

No, I was thinking about Mike Goodwin, the founder of this sport, who sits this very minute in jail for the murder
Micky Thompson.

That's hurting someone.

I would imagine many on this board live with extreme pain, arthritis, old age, etc. We would all like to pop a pill or smoke something for relief but we don't. Why? Because it is against the law. Marijuana itself is harmless but the people selling it are not. That is the issue. The drug trade is full of death and anti social behavior. If you want to smoke pot, grow it yourself so you don't support the illegal drug industry. You will be saving lives. Maybe your own.

He was "on weed"....spoken like a person who has no idea what being "on weed" is like. if you cannot see how you "scenario" is totally irrelevant to the conversation, then you should probably just keep to yourself.

I can't help but think all that trash talking and stuff was just his sense of humour.. Dungey is and was one of my favourite riders but I still laugh at all that shit that Jlaw did, I like how he didn't really take anything too serious..
It is super weird to me that people seem to be angry that he realised that he didn't have what it took to be a pro and walked away, he definitely had the talent but not all the other shit you need these days..

I read these threads that always turn out bad and wonder, does anyone have any real info on Jason.

Whats he doing , where's he living etc?

Awesome video. I love reading the "never-beens" try to bash an ex-champ in these threads Grinning

Jason accomplished more in his short career than most of us will ever dream of. His life choices are just that, his.

He lives in South Jersey, frequents New Jersey Field of Dreams track, seen all the time, seems like he's just riding and having fun, has a group of local fast guys he rides with. Nicco Izzi is a normal sight too around here at Englishtown track. Both have had spotlight, both seem like good people, too many people here that are quick to point the finger and not look in the mirror, none of us are perfect, we all have a love for riding and thats what matters.

Good video. There's a clip in there where he cuts the track in a SX race after he goes through some tough blocks. Ralph and Jeff say "Uhh, that's not right." Ever since that happened my dad, brother-in-law, myself and few of my friends have always called cutting the track "J-Lawing". We have epic RC car battles and at times there's lots of J-lawing going down.
