Well ... for me it's the fact he is the toughest competitor out there (he could loose a limb and still race and win) he doesn't know the word "quit" he does things his way and left his family and friends at 18 to pursue his dreams.

His records speaks for itself but the fact he did it without his DAD coming to every single event (actually virtually none of them) is a massive reason why he is the man. Family support is important and that takes a lot of determination and strength to leave that behind.

And the fact that i rubbed elbows with him (well at least until the gate dropped) when he was 16 on a RM250.

And yes he i'm hangin' off his nut sack and i'd do him in a second but only if Ellie isn't involved, i'm the jelious type Wink

I have to admit he's winning me over as a fan. Partly because I've listened to the RacerX podcasts Steve Matthes has done. He comes off modest and is able to laugh at himself when Steve ribs him a bit. You get the feeling your listening to the REAL CR. Pretty cool stuff.

That being said, I'm looking for Stewart to make a slow and dramatic come back to win the series.

He had me at "Hello... would you like to swing from my nut sack? Because I totally dig moto-board posers."

Seriously, he was easy to hate in the RC vs. Stewart vs. Reed era. But how can people still hate him after last year's SX season?

I seriously doubt the fact that his dad didn't go to Europe and come to the states with him is the reason he is so successful. I've always thought Chad was a bit of the whiney type, but I've also always thought he was a freakin warrior - yup he can be both in my book. I'm a big fan and I wish him the best on the Zuk and hope he doesn't leave to do the car thing any time soon.

I was watching the RC outdoor marathon from '04 last night and it's easy to forget that he's one of the best outdoors too.

I will agree...Reed seems to be much "tougher" than Stewart.

I guess we'll see how this season turns out...

No, I think he has worked harder and has sacrificed more.

I've never seen him quit before...

The earrings can't hurt though! Kissing

Reed and Stewart have both been prima donnas since '02. The only difference between them is Stewart had the balls to race RC outdoors. Reed saw he couldn't beat RC so he just didn't try and then quit outdoors altogether, and if that wasn't enough, he proceeded to bitch and cry about how terrible it was to race Nationals. Up to this year, he's never been willing to race Stewart indoors either. He's won two titles when RC and Stewart were both out and that's his performance up to now. I don't see where that shows a lot of character, but maybe I have a different definition.

Reed raced RC from 04 -06 outdoors Bubba only races RC 2 full season, Reed also raced a full GP series living in Belgium - all outdoor somthing that bubba hasn't done yet.

They aren't prima donnas they both want to win bad, thats all.

Being in a race with RC and racing RC are two different things. Reed did the former, James did the latter. Reed saw he couldn't beat RC outdoors so he didn't even race him. For that matter, he had WAY more SX talent than RC ever had and he never beat RC for a title there, either.

Reed rides good for 6 laps and the world wants to anoint him King. Well, he has 320 laps to go, and like the Zen master said, "We'll see."

I wouldn't exactly say Reed raced RC outdoors. Maybe to the first turn, but that's about it.
