It's an unfortunate racing mishap.
I feel bad for James and it sucks it happened.
But I also understand that if it had been James jumping a triple or even a quad and he took someone out, people would be calling foul on James also. But it's just a racing mishap.
James has had terrible luck this season and I really hope his luck changes.

The logical voice of reason on the insanity board.

I'd like to add yes it was Pieck who jumped and hit James but James was going to slow, He was clearly losing ground and that made it worse. overall just another bummer for James.

Peicks's move was awesome. James would have made the exact same move in his prime. Ask JT$ or Ivan Tedesco what they think about racing moves.

Don't know that the move was awesome.....

I don't know if you have ever jumped on someone...

I have, it fucking is a really shitty feeling, first that youmight be fucked up, second, that you hurt someone really badly.

My first thoughts were, oh shit this fucking sucks, the second that I was on the ground and breathing, I'm looking for my competitor to make sure he had help coming in the form of EMTs....

Landing on someone sucks, it's not just "oh, yeH, I got a position, fuck him!"

bad luck will hit you more often if you put yourself in bad positions. that's a lot of 'bad luck' for james this year.

Same here bud. I've been landed on, and landed on someone, both results sucked. Dizzy

One time I had crashed and was on the ground and got landed on, and another time a rider cased a double in front of me and was in the process of crashing right in front of me.

Shitty feeling being injured or injuring someone else, whether it's your fault or not.

You get it....

I'd rather hurt myself than someone else, I'm masochistic I guess.

The thought of crippling someone just brings me to tears.

At that point motorcycle racing isn't fun.

James is trying to race his way into shape. Trying to get some gate drops so he isn't so far behind the eight ball come Hangtown. But bad luck and some boneheaded moves by himslef and moreso lately by some other riders are screwing him over. Tripling into the turn was too aggressive by Pieck. Period. But he does that shit all the time.

James can't catch a break but it does seem like the riders get super aggressive around him these days, almost unnecessarily. That should have never happened. Pay some respect and look out for your fellow rider. Race him but don't try to hurt him. It wasn't intentional but it was another poor decision made around James and he pays for it again.

I don't condone anyone racing aggressively and recklessly but if you are going to do it how about somebody do to Dunge for Christs sake. I mean he is on a tear and so good right now. The ONLY way to even think about beating him is to get in there and rough him up a little. No one does it. And he kills everyone, except Kenny every week. I mean get in there and rub the guy for God's sake.

Racing deal.

The exact moment James checks behind him to make his decision Peick is already airborne with nothing he can do.

If James either triples like he was or at the very least doesn't change his line then there is no issue either.

Racing deal that's on Peick. Even before Peick has taken off he know James is going double single. James is running racing line

Throughout most of his career James was so much faster than his competition, he did not have to worry about what went on behind him. Now that he is a mid pack guy, he will either learn new line choice skills ... Or he wont.

Yea James should never get bumped pushed or even passed by anyone but they ought to do all those things to Dungey? This is supercross the most brutal tier of racing next to the outdoors.

What you'll see in this thread is most of the guys who actually raced MX a considerable amount will chalk it up as a racing incident. The guys who have never raced will place blame. It's the way it always is. Peick was committed to the jump. You're not backing off of a triple when you're on the face of the jump. He tripled, like most of the other top guys, James double singled and cut from the outside in. No one's fault, just two riders negotiating an obstacle differently and trying to occupy the same space. It's not hard to understand really.
This, exactly.

Big props to James for remounting and finishing his heat. In the past, he's been criticized for pulling off. It was realy cool to see him finish out the race and cross the finish line when he didn't need to. That move won me over, hope he can get one more before he hangs it up. While watching that, I couldn't help but wonder if there was something more significant to him finishing that heat though.

Looks to me like Weston has ridden in not only the same zip code, but whooped James' ass all season. All crap aside, Weston tripled into the corner and James double-singled. Racing incident pure and simple.

Weston is cool and all but when was the last time he went 24-0

Your living in the past. Almost every incident JS has been in this year it's because he's going backwards.

Yep this is what I've said too. When you're changing lines and you're a top guy, it's no big deal. When you're moving backwards and changing lines, disaster happens. He's just not used to it.

Exactly, FMOTP double/single into a corner? James has promoted it himself commenting that even when he doesn't win people are always talking about "did you see what Bubba did". He knew someone would be coming through yet went to the middle of the turn. Should have stayed wide. Pieck knew Bubba isn't on his game and should have backed it down a notch. Painful to watch.

I gotta go with bad move by mr bitchslap but one that is pretty common in the tight world of SX. If you are not aggressive you will not make any passes.....still 90% at fault for WP as it looked like Stewart may have moved over a bit to block the inside, which he had every right to protect.

James should park it until outdoors. There is obviously the worst case of bad mojo following that poor guy around this year that I have ever seen. He cannot get a break

Combination of Weston being a little over aggressive and James not being aware of what is happening around him...Racing Incident.
What does make me laugh is the same people that said that Dungey moving over and protecting his line last week was a bitch move are the same ones that are saying that James has a right to protect his line...huh??

Maybe ask kyle partridge for his opinion
You forgot about 30 names on that list. Maybe more notably ask RC about when Bubba landed on him at Unadilla. Concussion #347 for JS that day as well.

How in the hell is Peick even close to Stewart to begin with ? We are talking about Peick who has gone as far as he ever will and is a over achiever who will never will and race much less a championship. How can he even be close to James "the fastest man on the planet" Stewart.

Peick is right, he was committed Stewie Doubled then moved over into where Peick was jumping

“I wasn’t even close enough to pass the guy [Stewart]” Peick told us afterward. “The main line in the rhythm was triple-double-triple and he had done that the lap before. I was committed to the triple and he checked up and went double. I was already committed and he swept right while I was going inside on the triple and I just landed right into the back of him. I didn’t really hit him that hard I don’t think, but he ended up going down. It’s hard to judge stuff like that because everyone is going so damn fast. You don’t have time to cruise the track and wait. It’s risky, we’re all trying to get in the main from the heat. That move wasn’t intentional, I wasn’t planning on passing him. Hopefully he’s all right. It’s just one of those racing incidents nobody can really control.”
