Jody has a PHD.
Jody flies airplanes
Jody hung out with lots of racers over the years
Jody got hurt a few times and took various pain pills
Jody took Ricky Johnson to the Mexico Supercross in 1847.
Every moto mag wanted Jody but he picked JXA because he was given total control.
Jody thinks that "any lonely guy with a computer and 13 weeks left on his unemployment check can be an editor of an Internet magazine."
Jody's job is very hard to get and we should all want to be Jody.
For the record, I like Jody.

I hated that crap from day 1.
He's right about Internet magazine editors- that's the beauty of it.
he does have a history with this sport and he pours his life into the magazine and motocross in general.
He says things the way he sees them.
I give him credit for that.

X1
The funny thing is when I see interviews with him such as in MX files I like him more than I do through reading his magazine. He is very knowledgeable but his self importance is irritating.

So that's where the "wrecking crew" comes from.
The target audence for that rag seems to be old, cranky, wannabe motocross know-it-alls - come to think of it, he would fit right in at this place.

Me too MXRose. I always loved how MXA didn't give a crap about ticking off advertisers, the AMA, the readers or anybody. It's critical in this industry when the fans and riders seem to be on the bottom rung in a lot of ways. And nobody can deny the guy's technical knowledge and significance in the sport's growth.
In recent years,it's been a little weird to see the anger he evidently feels toward certain people in the sport. It's like he lives in some Elite Moto Bubble out there in SoCal and the rest of the world are just posers. Oh well, he inspired me, whether he likes it or not!
Pit Row
Bull shit probably.

The part about dealing with him in person is spot on. It was really quite funny to race against him.

I didn't realize people even read that part of the mag. Figured it was just pure magazine filler.
Jody can come off a little cranky and less than humble at times but I like the way MXA doesn't pull their punches in the bike reviews. Or taking on industry crap ( like the AMA's various and never-ending fiascos ) The contrast with the other mags that appear afraid to say anything that could possibly be construed as critical is glaring.
Yamacross Action?
Gerontology.

Actually I'm starting to kind of like him.
