I dont think they would beat them on any track from any era. Prime example. I run up front in +30 and +40B locally and win some. I raced +35 last summer, which is an open class, and got absolutely smoked by a local A guy who was riding an old twin shock, down pipe Bultaco. He went by me...
Christian Craig is riding Yamaha's for the Innovative MX team , if anyone is paying attention to his results lately.... wasn't this all hashed out a few weeks ago on here?[/quote:3bjlr5nm] Sorry, in fact I have not been paying attention to who Craig is riding for, but I do remember that old thread now that you mention it. Amazing...
CHRISTIAN CRAIG TO YOT? We heard a rumor a while back that Christian Craig is planning to bypass the A class altogether and jump right into the AMA Nationals at the conclusion of this amateur season. The best part of the rumor is that when he does it, it will be out of the Yamaha of Troy rig. I tracked...

It tells me that motocross specifically and motorcycle racing in general is completely irrelevant to the public at large. But the X-games are on TV and totally x-treme to the max, dude, so those dudes must rock, even if we have no idea of what they really do, dude.[/quote:1tpt0yox] ding ding ding[/quote:1tpt0yox] And this is new how?

[quote:jgirhufc]Manufacturer B is a slightly different deal, since I "sponsored" by them I have to deal with the rider support guy, which to me should make things easier. Well this guy is impossible to get a hold of and doesn't return phone calls. I have gotten a hold of him twice, the first time was great he made it sound...
Why all the venom for the amateur class? Where do you think the motorcycle industries bread and butter really is, the pros? BTW: It is possible to win at that level with out the support of the OEMs. I happen to know a kid that had at least a half of dozen national titles under his belt before he started...
You have to have a screw loose to encourage your kid to pursue a career in mx/sx.[/quote:du0k71rk] AMEN!! Motocross has become Ski racing!! If you cant afford the academys, training camps/coaches, travel etc... it doesnt matter how good or determined you are. You most likely will not make it.

[quote:1dlcgl5t]Perhaps if the Factory Amateur teams didn't exist they could afford to provide support for the Pro's on the bubble like Mace when they get to the bigs[/quote:1dlcgl5t] But there in is the quandry. Do you support a kid like Kyle Mace, who in all honestly, is very unlikely to ever win a championship or do you plan for the...

If they continue with DMG, then they wouldn't be any more out than they were working under the AMA, and they will have someone better to work with.
