If James should hang it up, does that mean anyone barely capable of making a main should hang it up too?
You're worried about his sponsors not getting their money's worth? Why are you not worried about monster / kawi getting their money's worth out of Tedder racing? Before Wey, they didn't have much going, but still had sponsors.
It's not our place to decide who gets sponsored or "hangs it up".
Regardless of inconsistency he's still one of the most talented people to throw a leg over a dirt bike. That alone has a lot of pull.

Jason Lawrence is incredibly talented...how much pull does he have with the factories right now?

Good comparison hahaha.
Yet, if you dig up old threads, most vitards love the idea of A J-Law comeback.

I said he should hang it up because of all the injuries he's accumulated the last couple years . Also the lack of luck he's been having lately is just unheard of. He should worry about life after moto, he's probably had a least 10 concussions over the years and I think that is catching up with him with all the weird mistakesand crashes he's been having. Regardless I hope he sits out till MX and puts in a solid 24 motos then take it from there.

You have to admit that with JS7 completing 1/10 of the laps.. His lines are among the longest for an autograph. He has tons of people behind him. He can show up and drive around in a golf cart...and Suzuki still gets there money's worth.

He's not even hard on equipment lol. Help he's only been through one pair of boots all year.

In the last 7 seasons, including this one. The FMOTP has only finished top 5 twice with 2 4ths, think about that.

He didn't go down in practice and these excuses are getting old. He just don't have what he used to. Yes was a beast and 24-0...

Yes was a beast and 24-0 a decade ago.

But the time is almost out. Good news Mookie is on it!!!
He sure did go down. Watched it happen.

He trained his whole life to ride motorcycles, us average joes did not

This is not a personal insult to james at all, just using him as the example.

I like this. His "job" is still a hobby to 99% of the population like golf and other sports. They provide entertainment but guys are too hard on these guys. Does what they do impact

Bubba is a savage and should be remembered as such. His recent showings are definitely a disappointment to us fans.

Hmm, you mean entertaining the rest of us isn't a positive difference? Don't tell Hollywood.

Wow. People need to think about that stat. And to think every year there are tons of people talking about Bubba winning another championship.

Time to bow out gracefully and retire if I were him.

I stayed off of Vital and watched the race late , so I had no idea what happened. I know he had some really good speed in qualifying , but this is starting to get ridiculous. If he doesn't have bike issues , the poor dude gets hurt every time he throws a leg over a bike. After seeing the qualifying times earlier today I though he could be good for a possible 3rd - 8th place .....but he got hurt again?

I went against the grain here with a lot of folks saying " He still has it in him to finish well "....I'm starting to think it was a pipe dream. James has already accomplished a lot in this sport , but I think it's getting to thje point where he needs to hang it up. Not just for his sponsors and team...but for his own well being.

Yes comparing my day job to what a proffesional athlete does seems fair. Especially one who's considered the most talented of all time.

If everything goes right for him, he can maybe get top 5. That's the reality of it at this point. Crazy to think he hasn't finished on the lead lap yet this year. He will not win another race.
