Love to see a 690 version of this. The 390 seems a little underwhelming for seriuos adventure touring.

Not that it matters....because this does not appear to be more than a photoshop job. Where's the front fender? Why are they using rims from 3 years ago? Why are those clearly suspension/brake/wheel components from the XC/SX line instead of the Super Duke/ Enduro 690?

The pic in the article is different.

They already make one. They are amazing bikes. I got a chance to ride the smc supermoto version ktm makes. Too bad they are hard to find for sale.

I don't get it, but KTM does have it figured out.
I have dual sported a 250XCFW, 520 EXC,450 EXC. All depends on the application.

If you rode that in Southern California Highways, you will be run over by Smart Cars going 80MPH. Seriously. Anything under 500cc's unless its a twin is dumb.

People say the same about here, but I don't go faster than 60mph in my car. Idgaf the speed limit is 70. Truckers hate me but I'm saving gas.

If KTM really is making a 390 adventure I'll be buying one. It'll be fast enough.

When I read the title I assumed it was the 2 stroke big bore people have been speculating about.

There are already 2 KTM 390"s. The Duke street bike & the RC390 road racer.

Here's a picture from a bit over a year ago of a development Trail Bike / Motard version of the 390 Duke:

It's entirely logical that KTM make further use of the 125 / 200 / 390 Duke base platforms, be them as XL / XR level Trail Bikes, and / or as a platform for a set of small(er) ADV bikes. The Mini Dukes are probably the largest part of KTMs production / sales increase that everyone seems so impressed with. Their Road Bike sales are now larger than Dirt bike sales, even with the useful extra bit of market they've got from KTHusky sales.

They'll be affordable bikes - despite quite a few drongos 'hating' that the mini Dukes are made in India, they've been quite a success in many markets, and, I'm yet to hear of any endemic problems with them. Good, affordable bikes. You'll see ever growing numbers of KTMs / Huskies made in India. And, I think KTM have / are about to open a production facility in Brazil - though, it may be purely a CKD facility?

Honda are about to release their ADV type bike based on the CRF250L - I think that's the designation of the Thailand made 250 - so there could be quite a fight between Honda and KTM for a potentially huge market, especially in India and Asia and other markets , like South America where there is real, significant sales growth.

The 401 Huskies that many have had kittens over, are just re-clothed KTM 390 Dukes, and I'd be very surprised if the 125 /200 Mini Dukes are not re-clothed as Huskies, in various forms, sooner, rather than later.

Hating comes from diagnosing and repairing faulty equipment, at my cost, cause you only get paid to replace. And also from riding. Sorry for being a drongo.

Thats an Enduro 690. A bike in which i referred to in my post, had you read the entirety of it. By any measure the 690 is a dual sport, not an adventure bike. A few companies will turn it into one if your wallet will allow...

I'll say this once again. There is no such thing as a KTM Adventure 390. The motorcycle does not exist.

disagree. Orange County for 3 years with two dog slow bikes. A drz400sm and a wr250x. They both easily pull 85-95 and where never in the way. Most of the time in so cal your splitting through traffic anyway. Sure there not my cbr1000 or r6 race bike but they aren't in the way.

There will not be a 390 adventure. I think even the supermoto will be tricky to figure out with that platform, due to the bigger wheels the SM may have less suspension travel than the Duke... They may still go for it, kids like the SM look so KTM will sell them where they can.
A 690ADVENTURE would be awesome. KTM has the big singles so figured out, you could cruise in comfort and still have great offroad driving characteristics.

Even a ninja 250 will do 90+ pretty easily... Unless it's dragging an ego-chute I guess!
