Davalos Might Miss Toronto

Edited Date/Time 3/13/2016 9:14am
Transworld tweeted that Davalos could possibly miss the Toronto round due to immigration problems, like Wilson in 2010. If true, that sucks! Imagine leading the championship and losing your points lead over legal issues. Hope he gets it figured out.

JFC....this would be a real feather-in-the-cap for the never ending saga that is Martin Davalos' 250 career

On the bright side, it reduces his chance of having to race 450 next year.

Herlings just invited him to his birthday party at the beach

It just doesn't make sense to me why he didn't race the West series if he is having problems with his immigration status. Having personally dealt with USCIS a lot of times their processing is very unpredictable. There are times when you're just waiting without any response for a very long time. And trying to go anyways and getting stuck(Wilson) would be even worse.

Is this issue because of his passport, or because of a work visa type issue?

I would assume teams would be ahead of this after the Wilson issue.

Try dealing with those assholes 2 or 3 times a week. People wonder why I'm a little crusty when I get home on the weekend. Especially the pet store, who keep selling me puppies. The ones I kick through a fan on a REALLY bad week. On the upside, I learned to leave the fan outside. Saves on cleanup.

Speaking of cost... Have you seen the current exchange rate?! These teams are getting a steal! Might as well pick up some spare bikes while they're up here.

Anyone know what the "issue" is, specifically?

Jump the border, works for the Mexicans. Then work a day then go back home.

He should just say he is a Syrian. He will get a debt card and place to stay

Would hate to see that, good point about choosing to do the West Coast rounds with prior knowledge of this. Hope he's able to compete this weekend.

Schedule the race in a country where they care more about throwing money at you more so than worrying about immigration. Wink

I thought Canada would let anyone in?

I thought Wilsons problem was getting back in America?

They haven't clarified anything yet but I am assuming his troubles would be getting back in the US and going through customs. Either he has a work visa that is expired and hasn't been renewed or he was was eligible for permanent residence(green card) and it is expired or he is just now applying for it. Just speculation but those would probably be the most likely scenarios.

I thought that is how it went down too. I just checked the results.

Dean Wilson got 4th in Toronto back in 2010.
He was not shown on the list at the next round in Dallas.
He was not shown on the list at the next round in Jacksonville
He got 9th in Houston.

So it looks like he missed two rounds.
