James got to rich to quick to give a shit. If he stayed with Aldon and stayed hungry he would have won everything for 4-5 years and retired like villopoto did

Chad was almost a lap down last weekend. Didn't see anyone talking about that. He Isn't coming off an injury with a 2 year break. Just saying.

If he continues on the same path he is on, I can this being the end for him. He fitness isnt great and he doesn't seems as motivated as he needs to be to run at the front.

bubba has said repeatedly he can't embrace the idea of not winning.

This very mediocre season will be his last.

I agree. Pretty petty the way they talk shit on him. Dude has had a lot of bad luck and people right him off? Like it or not your going too see him win again. People saying he needs to retire, who the fuck are they to decide what he needs too do? He needs a few 20 lap races under his belt, then he will be back in the top 5! Jt$ will talk shit about him on pulp tomorrow. I often wonder who the fuck is that guy? What did he ever do?

For fuck sake it's his first race back and he probably shouldn't have been back so soon. You guys are insane to say he should retire. Is he capable of winning a championship ? No... Can he pull a random win out of his ass once his head isn't a mess ? Yes...
I have never understood why people are so hard on him.

Why are people so eager for riders to retire?

If they still enjoy it and can qualify everyone wins

Well what about Reed & Dungey? It took Dungey 5 years to win another title. Only reason he won last year was B/C RV was not racing. Let's be honest RV was pretty much an animal. In 2014 James was the only one beating RV! RD had 1 win that year. James had to sit out all last year. So I'm not one bit surprised he is off the pace. Dude still has the speed but needs to be in better shape. I was surprised he showed up at A1 so out of shape. As for Dungey can't say much about him now, he is killing It! Just hope James wants it bad enough to get his condition back.
What about Reed and Dungey? Dungey is out there smoking everyone right now, and he's never gone 5 years without a title in his whole career. Reed is maybe on the way out now, he'd probably admit that he's only got a couple of years left, but nevertheless he's still got more podiums this year than Stewart has main events, and up till a couple of years ago, he was still a legitimate title contender until he got injured in 2012 and 2014. Can you honestly say that Stewart has ever looked like winning a title since 2009? Maybe 2012 outdoors in the first couple of races, but that was only 2 rounds. He may have won a few races in SX over his past couple of seasons, but if he doesn't win he throws it away. All those crashes are bound to catch up with you eventually. He may not be done just yet, but you get the feeling the end could well be nigh

Yeah and he was on the podium this weekend, as he was another 2 times this season. He's 34 years of age

I'd like to see him do whatever makes him happy....not whatever is good for his entourage. If he still wants to race, fine.....if he doesn't then good for him.

He's out there racing because he enjoys it, by now he knows that he can't simply put it on the top of the box every weekend. He can still line up and put in some good laps though so quit raggin' on the guy. I think that we are privileged to still see Stewart and Reed ride as fast as the turnover is in this sport, yet you still get asshats on here talking shit about how they don't win every race. /smh

I don't think he should retire by any means. But from the outside looking in it has seemed like since James dumped Aldon he felt he could get it done on talent alone. And to me that's the saddest part about his 450 career talent wise he's probably more talented then dungey or villopoto. But those guys are willing to put in the other work off the bike. So I just think if he's gonna suck millions out from sponsors he should hire a trainer get rid of his entourage full of "yes men" and make an actual run at it next year.

One thing for sure,he will not ever have the worry of a lapped rider trying not to be lapped on the last half lap getting in his way why leading a main ,ever again.

What a dickhead.

One he gets his fitness and nerves back up and running on all cylinders....he still has plenty of good racing left in him!

I agree. I think he's just happy to have finished his first race this season. After so much time off, and getting injured in A1, that should be his goal.
Im with you guys. He hasn't competed at this level for a long time. He is human, he needs to accept that and just finish races and rebuild himself. I think he could be back to podium in four races and back to challenging for wins by the end of the series. But to do that, he has to accept that it is a process, stay healthy, and finish races. Can he actually do that? I don't know.

Chad's got a few years on him and is still a consistent frontrunner. If James can get his mind in the right place and stay off the ground, he can have some great races in his future.
Of course, we've all been saying this for a few years. Being kicked out last year really fucked him.

He got 12th last week.

There is a really strong correlation between motocross fans and short-sightedness.
When's the last time stewrat finished 12th or better ?

I've been following Supercross/motocross since 1992 and once a rider loses "it" they don't get it back. I can't believe some people thinks he can turn it around and be a contender. He's done.

I disagree with this. Look , I've been one of James' critics for quite a while....actually a lot of riders. Usually I let things bother me , when I see him do something that was just super fucking weird or took out some other rider , made a bone head mistake , blah , blah , blah...

But I want to see him out there just as much as one of his hardcore fans. Why? Because I love watching the guy ride.

Just last night , did you guys catch the raw speed that dude can still muster up in the qualifier? Yeah he went down in the sand section , but so did a ton of other riders. He was flat out hauling ass and looked pretty damn good to me.

This is a James that's been off for damn near two years , coming back from a head injury and is obviously not in the best shape. Tellin' ya , he aint done!

Head gets 100% clear , he gets healthy and fit and starts enjoying himself....you guys will see I'm right. He's got some more fire left in him than what some of you guys are giving him credit for.

I'll criticize someone when they do something stupid. Last night may of been a brain fart on his part , but Christ , lets give the dude a break here!

Retirement? Fuck that!

James is doing More BAD then Good to his legacy right now...It's Sad seeing him not knowing when to call it a Done Deal...Even if he won 2 or 3 races he would still end up in 10th for the year,,,James is Not the rider he was 5 years ago and Never will be. I think he should call it a day and maybe put a team together and do some more winning that way..

He finally completed a race last night but got lapped in the process. He looked very sketchy in his heat before eventually going down. And then at the end managed to influence the outcome of the race anyway.

Worst of all, I just don't see any heart out of him. I worried about that the day of the press conference when he said his year off was one of the best years of his life. That he "finally found a way to be happy away from racing." At that point it was obvious he wasn't committed to winning. Then came A1...

James style has always been balls out, go for it, crash or win... I think his A1 crash ruined him. He's so afraid to crash now he's lost his identity as a racer. In his current mental state, he just can't/won't ride the way he used to anymore. And when he loses that, he loses was made him special.

And do you really expect him to make it through outdoors or even the rest of SX without wadding it big time again? One more big one and I think that's the end of the road for Stew.
The ship certainly has left port... time to move on to the current top riders and the sport's up and comers. Like a carton of milk in the fridge that is two years past its due date

No they stuck with him because even when there was no sign of him fans were 6 deep in front of his rig.

P.s. Big James said that Bubba is in for the long haul.

You're only as good as your last race, apparently. All I know is I enjoy the hell out of watching Stewart ride, and regardless of how hs last season or two goes it isn't going to tarnish his legacy. Anybody remember McGrath's KTM year? We still think fo him as the King, why should Stewart be any different?

He is second on the all time win list, has a perfect mx season under his belt (something both Villopoto and Dungey couldn't do), and changed the way dirtbikes had to be ridden in the last decade. Almost everybody agrees he was the best there has ever been on a 125, too. That doesn't miraculously vanish with a 14th place finish.

I agree with everything you said. I honestly believe James will come out of nowhere and snag a win or 2. But his hopes at winning a championship are done I think. I hate saying it, and I sound like such a dick saying it but James simply can't stay off the ground for an entire season anymore. This has been proven over the last couple years. With that being said, I hope he comes back healthy in MX and has some great races with the other top guys and stays in the hunt til the very end.

This guy gets it. Love him or hate him he is a star. I always said when he gets close to the end he will realize it's about over. People can bitch and moan all they want but James seems like a good dude. The fans are still there. I just want to see him leave happy and on his own terms. My wish is for him to win a race and in the interview on fs1. Say you know what I don't need this anymore. Lol
